1) Apple announced a change in leadership, with Tim Cook stepping down as Chief Executive Officer on 31 August 2026 and John Ternus taking over the role on 1 September 2026. Cook, 65, is stepping down to become the executive chairman of Apple’s board of directors. Ternus, a 25-year veteran at Apple, is the new chief executive of the company.

2) The Gulf of Mexico is a marginal sea of the Atlantic Ocean, bounded by the United States, Mexico and Cuba. 3) Bangladesh and China have begun preparations for their first “2+2” diplomatic and defense dialog, which merges discussions on foreign and defense affairs. The proposed mechanism involves a State Minister-level Diplomacy and Defense Dialog and an early Foreign Minister-level Strategic Dialog.

4) NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off at 7:26 a.m. EDT on 30 August 2026 from Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The observatory was launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket and is now on a three-month journey to the Sun-Earth Lagrange Point 2, or L2, about 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth.

5) Ceuta is a North African enclave and autonomous Spanish city on the Mediterranean coast, separated from Morocco by a land border and from mainland Spain by the Strait of Gibraltar. In late July 2026, Ceuta experienced a large-scale migrant influx from Morocco, and security protests, police action and emergency border-related requests to the European Union.

6) The Ministry of Food Processing Industries organized PMFME Bazaar at India Habitat Center, New Delhi, highlighting the achievements of micro food enterprises from across the country. It highlighted the significance of the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme in providing financial assistance, technical support, branding and market linkages to small food businesses.

7) The Government has highlighted the achievements of National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) in strengthening India’s livestock health ecosystem through mass vaccination, disease surveillance and digital livestock management.
