1) The 7th High-Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard and the Vietnam Coast Guard was held at the Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, Chennai on 25 August 2026. The meeting was held under the Memorandum of Understanding on Coast Guard Cooperation signed in 2015 and co-chaired by Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Paramesh Sivamani and Vise Commandant of the Vietnam Coast Guard, Major General Luong Dinh Hung.

भारतीय तटरक्षक दल आणि व्हिएतनाम तटरक्षक दल यांच्यातील सातवी उच्च-स्तरीय बैठक 25 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी चेन्नई येथील तटरक्षक दलाच्या प्रादेशिक मुख्यालयात आयोजित करण्यात आली होती. ही बैठक 2015 मध्ये स्वाक्षरी करण्यात आलेल्या ‘तटरक्षक दल सहकार्यविषयक सामंजस्य करारा’ंतर्गत आयोजित करण्यात आली होती आणि तिचे सह-अध्यक्षपद भारतीय तटरक्षक दलाचे महासंचालक परमेश शिवमनी व व्हिएतनाम तटरक्षक दलाचे उप-कमांडर मेजर जनरल लुओंग दिन्ह हंग यांनी भूषवले.

2) The first compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus was issued by the International Center for Automotive Technology on 26 August 2026 in Manesar, Haryana. The certificate was given to Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules framework and the applicable AIS-119 and AIS-153 standards.

हरियाणातील मानेसर येथे ‘इंटरनॅशनल सेंटर फॉर ऑटोमोटिव्ह टेक्नॉलॉजी’द्वारे 15-मीटरच्या ‘मल्टी-ॲक्सल स्लीपर बस’साठी पहिले अनुपालन प्रमाणपत्र (compliance certificate) 26 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी जारी करण्यात आले. ‘सेंट्रल मोटर व्हेइकल्स रूल्स’ची चौकट आणि लागू असलेली AIS-119 व AIS-153 मानके यांच्या अंतर्गत हे प्रमाणपत्र ‘सिनाटी ऑटोमोटिव्ह प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड’ला देण्यात आले.

3) On 26 August 2026, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) conducted a high-altitude test of the indigenous Military Combat Parachute System (MCPS) at the Nyoma-Mudh Drop Zone in Leh district of Ladakh. The trial jump was from 22,000 feet above mean sea level at minus 15 degrees Celsius.

26 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, संरक्षण संशोधन आणि विकास संस्थेने (DRDO) लडाखमधील लेह जिल्ह्यातील ‘न्योमा-मुध ड्रॉप झोन’ येथे स्वदेशी ‘मिलिटरी कॉम्बॅट पॅराशूट सिस्टम’ची (MCPS) अति-उंचीवरील चाचणी घेतली. ही प्रायोगिक उडी समुद्रसपाटीपासून 22,000 फूट उंचीवरून आणि उणे 15 अंश सेल्सिअस तापमानात घेण्यात आली.

4) Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Safran Helicopter Engines in Bengaluru on 26 August 2026 signed a definitive contract to develop and manufacture a new high power turboshaft engine for 13-tonne helicopters. The agreement was signed through SAFHAL Helicopter Engines Pvt Ltd (SAFHAL), a joint venture of HAL and Safran Helicopter Engines.

हिंदुस्तान एरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड (HAL) आणि सफ्रान हेलिकॉप्टर इंजिन्स यांनी 26 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी बेंगळुरू येथे 13-टनांच्या हेलिकॉप्टर्ससाठी नवीन उच्च-क्षमतेचे टर्बोशाफ्ट इंजिन विकसित आणि उत्पादित करण्याबाबत एका निश्चित करारावर स्वाक्षरी केली. हा करार ‘सफहाल हेलिकॉप्टर इंजिन्स प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड’ (SAFHAL) या HAL आणि सफ्रान हेलिकॉप्टर इंजिन्सच्या संयुक्त उपक्रमाद्वारे करण्यात आला.

5) The Kerala (Alteration of Name) Act, 2026, amended the First Schedule of the Constitution of India and renamed the State officially as Keralam. The change was made in accordance with the constitutional procedure laid down in article 3 which provided for the formation of new States and alteration of names and areas of existing States.

‘केरळ (नाव बदल) कायदा, 2026’ द्वारे भारताच्या संविधानातील पहिल्या अनुसूचीमध्ये सुधारणा करण्यात आली आणि राज्याचे अधिकृत नाव ‘केरलम’ असे करण्यात आले. हा बदल कलम ३ मध्ये नमूद केलेल्या घटनात्मक प्रक्रियेनुसार करण्यात आला; या कलमात नवीन राज्यांची निर्मिती तसेच विद्यमान राज्यांची नावे आणि क्षेत्रफळ यांत बदल करण्याबाबतची तरतूद आहे.

6) India is looking to add 100 new vessels to its merchant fleet in the next five years to cut dependence on foreign shipping lines for critical cargo like crude oil, gas, coal and urea. The announcement came at the first Sagar Samvad conference in New Delhi on August 25, 2026. The conference was organized by the National Shipping Board to deliberate on the policy directions for Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.

कच्चे तेल, वायू, कोळसा आणि युरिया यांसारख्या महत्त्वपूर्ण मालाच्या वाहतुकीसाठी परदेशी जहाज कंपन्यांवरील अवलंबित्व कमी करण्याच्या उद्देशाने, भारत पुढील पाच वर्षांत आपल्या व्यापारी जहाज ताफ्यात 100 नवीन जहाजांचा समावेश करण्याच्या विचारात आहे. 25 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथे झालेल्या पहिल्या ‘सागर संवाद’ परिषदेत ही घोषणा करण्यात आली. ‘मॅरिटाइम इंडिया व्हिजन 2030’ आणि ‘मॅरिटाइम अमृत काल व्हिजन 2047’ यांसाठीच्या धोरणात्मक दिशांवर चर्चा करण्यासाठी ‘नॅशनल शिपिंग बोर्डा’ने या परिषदेचे आयोजन केले होते.

7) On August 21, 2026, China finished the first phase of dredging and land reclamation at Antelope Reef in the South China Sea’s Paracel Islands. Satellite imagery showed the construction of a new artificial island of approximately 1,500 acres and nearly 6 km long with port and runway-related infrastructure.

21 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, चीनने दक्षिण चीन समुद्रातील पॅरासेल बेटांवरील ‘अँटिलोप रीफ’ (Antelope Reef) येथे गाळ उपसणे आणि जमीन भराव टाकून ती विकसित करणे (land reclamation) या प्रक्रियेचा पहिला टप्पा पूर्ण केला. उपग्रह प्रतिमांवरून असे दिसून आले की, तिथे सुमारे 1,500 एकर क्षेत्रफळ आणि जवळपास 6 किमी लांबीचे एक नवीन कृत्रिम बेट उभारण्यात आले असून, त्यावर बंदर व धावपट्टीशी संबंधित पायाभूत सुविधांची निर्मिती करण्यात आली आहे.

8) On 25 August 2026, the Indian Pharmacopeia Commission (IPC), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, released seven Indian Pharmacopeia Nitrosamine Impurities Reference Standards. The launch was held at the first interactive meeting of the IPC at the Central Drugs Laboratory and Central Cosmetics Laboratory, Kolkata, West Bengal.

25 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, आरोग्य आणि कुटुंब कल्याण मंत्रालयांतर्गत कार्यरत असलेली स्वायत्त संस्था ‘इंडियन फार्माकोपिया कमिशन’ (IPC) ने ‘इंडियन फार्माकोपिया नायट्रोसामाइन अशुद्धता संदर्भ मानके’ (Indian Pharmacopeia Nitrosamine Impurities Reference Standards) अशी सात मानके जारी केली. या मानकांचे अनावरण पश्चिम बंगालमधील कोलकाता येथील ‘सेंट्रल ड्रग्स लॅबोरेटरी’ आणि ‘सेंट्रल कॉस्मेटिक्स लॅबोरेटरी’ येथे आयोजित IPC च्या पहिल्या परस्परसंवादी बैठकीदरम्यान करण्यात आले.
