1) st Meeting of the Steering Committee for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi on 21 August 2026 The 57th edition of IFFI will be held in Goa from 20-28 November 2026.
21 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथील कर्तव्य भवन-2 मध्ये 57 व्या आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवाच्या (IFFI) सुकाणू समितीची पहिली बैठक झाली. IFFI ची 57 वी आवृत्ती 20 ते 28 नोव्हेंबर 2026 या कालावधीत गोव्यात आयोजित केली जाईल.
2) The Food Safety Division, Karnataka has prohibited the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of analog paneer sold as “paneer” in the whole State for a period of one year from 17.08.2026 to 17.08.2027. The Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, prohibits the sale of non-dairy products under the name of a dairy product.
कर्नाटकच्या अन्न सुरक्षा विभागाने 17.08.2026 ते 17.08.2027 या एका वर्षाच्या कालावधीसाठी, संपूर्ण राज्यात ‘पनीर’ म्हणून विकल्या जाणाऱ्या ‘ॲनालॉग पनीर’चे उत्पादन, साठवणूक, वितरण आणि विक्री करण्यास मनाई केली आहे. ‘अन्न सुरक्षा आणि मानके कायदा, 2006’ अन्वये, दुग्धजन्य पदार्थाच्या नावाने दुग्ध-व्यतिरिक्त (non-dairy) उत्पादनांची विक्री करण्यास प्रतिबंध आहे.
3) The President Droupadi Murmu will give out the National Teachers Awards 2026 to 48 school teachers at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 5 September 2026. The date is the same as National Teachers’ Day in India, which is observed every year on September 5.
राष्ट्रपती द्रौपदी मुर्मू 5 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथील विज्ञान भवन येथे 48 शालेय शिक्षकांना ‘राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक पुरस्कार 2026’ प्रदान करतील. हा दिवस भारतातील ‘राष्ट्रीय शिक्षक दिन’ म्हणून साजरा केला जातो, जो दरवर्षी 5 सप्टेंबर रोजी असतो.
4) The National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning (NBSS&LUP), Nagpur, under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), has developed the first soil texture map of the country. The map contains digitized soil classification data at hectare level across the whole of the country. It was published on 16 July 2026.
भारतीय कृषी संशोधन परिषदेच्या (ICAR) अंतर्गत असलेल्या नागपूर येथील ‘नॅशनल ब्युरो ऑफ सॉईल सर्व्हे अँड लँड युज प्लॅनिंग’ (NBSS&LUP) या संस्थेने देशाचा पहिला मृदा पोत नकाशा (soil texture map) तयार केला आहे. या नकाशामध्ये संपूर्ण देशातील हेक्टर-स्तरावरील मृदा वर्गीकरणाची डिजिटाइज्ड माहिती समाविष्ट आहे. हा नकाशा 16 जुलै 2026 रोजी प्रकाशित करण्यात आला.
5) The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has assigned the task of processing pending citizenship applications under the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 to District Collectors in eight States and Union Territories. It will be for applications made under Section 6B of the Citizenship Act, 1955 and will replace the existing committee-based mechanism at the center.
केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालयाने ‘नागरिकत्व सुधारणा कायदा, 2019’ अंतर्गत प्रलंबित असलेल्या नागरिकत्वाच्या अर्जांवर प्रक्रिया करण्याचे काम आठ राज्ये आणि केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांमधील जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांकडे सोपवले आहे. ही प्रक्रिया ‘नागरिकत्व कायदा, 1955’ च्या कलम ६बी (Section 6B) अन्वये केलेल्या अर्जांसाठी असेल आणि यामुळे केंद्रातील सध्याची समिती-आधारित कार्यपद्धती बदलली जाईल.
6) Turkey has submitted an official request to Interpol for an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and another Israeli citizen, Afek Moskovitch. The request followed the issuing of domestic arrest warrants by the Istanbul 11th High Criminal Court on July 14, 2026, in a case related to allegations of genocide and other crimes.
तुर्कीने इस्रायलचे पंतप्रधान बेंजामिन नेतान्याहू आणि इस्रायली नागरिक अफेक मोस्कोविच यांच्या अटकेसाठी इंटरपोलकडे अधिकृत विनंती केली आहे. नरसंहार आणि इतर गुन्ह्यांच्या आरोपांशी संबंधित एका प्रकरणात 14 जुलै 2026 रोजी इस्तंबूलच्या 11 व्या उच्च फौजदारी न्यायालयाने त्यांच्या अटकेसाठी देशांतर्गत वॉरंट जारी केल्यानंतर ही विनंती करण्यात आली आहे.
7) Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on 21 August 2026 inaugurated seven infrastructure projects worth ₹427.80 crore at Paradip Port Authority (PPA), Paradip, Odisha. Projects included capital dredging, a bridge, a vessel traffic management system and mechanization agreements relating to port capacity and cargo handling.
केंद्रीय मंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल यांनी 21 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी ओडिशामधील पारादीप पोर्ट ऑथॉरिटी (PPA) येथे 427.80 कोटी रुपये खर्चाच्या सात पायाभूत सुविधा प्रकल्पांचे उद्घाटन केले. या प्रकल्पांमध्ये कॅपिटल ड्रेजिंग (जलमार्ग खोलीकरण), एक पूल, जहाज वाहतूक व्यवस्थापन प्रणाली आणि बंदराची क्षमता व माल हाताळणीशी संबंधित यांत्रिकीकरण करारांचा समावेश होता.
8) India’s downstream oil and gas regulator, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), on 21 August 2026 approved 1,800 km of new liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) pipelines. The project is proposed to have a capital outlay of ₹7,000 crore and has been assigned to GAIL (India) Limited as ‘authorized entity’.
भारतातील ‘डाऊनस्ट्रीम’ तेल आणि वायू क्षेत्राचे नियामक असलेल्या ‘पेट्रोलियम अँड नॅचरल गॅस रेग्युलेटरी बोर्ड’ने (PNGRB) 21 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी 1,800 किमी लांबीच्या नवीन द्रवीभूत पेट्रोलियम वायू (LPG) पाइपलाईन्सना मंजुरी दिली. या प्रकल्पासाठी 7,000 कोटी रुपयांची भांडवली तरतूद प्रस्तावित असून, ‘अधिकृत संस्था’ (authorized entity) म्हणून याचे काम ‘गेल (इंडिया) लिमिटेड’कडे (GAIL) सोपवण्यात आले आहे.
