1) On 24 August 2026, India immediately revised the export policy for wheat, durum wheat and related wheat flour products from “Prohibited” to “Free”. The order is for maida, semolina, wholewheat atta and resultant atta and lifts restrictions that were put in place from May 13, 2022 for wheat and from August 2022 for wheat flour products.
24 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी भारताने गहू, ड्युरम गहू आणि गव्हाच्या पिठापासून बनलेल्या संबंधित उत्पादनांच्या निर्यात धोरणात त्वरित बदल करून ते ‘निषिद्ध’ (Prohibited) वरून ‘मुक्त’ (Free) असे केले. हा आदेश मैदा, रवा, संपूर्ण गव्हाचे पीठ (wholewheat atta) आणि ‘रिझल्टंट आटा’ (गव्हाच्या पिठाच्या प्रक्रियेतून मिळणारे पीठ) यांच्यासाठी लागू आहे; याद्वारे 13 मे 2022 पासून गव्हावर आणि ऑगस्ट 2022 पासून गव्हाच्या पिठाच्या उत्पादनांवर घालण्यात आलेली निर्बंध उठवण्यात आली आहेत.
2) The China Manned Space Agency on Aug. 23, 2026 announced a postponement of the Chang’e-7 robotic lunar mission after a comprehensive review determined the probe did not meet the requirements to be launched within the planned window. Chang’e-7 is a Chinese lunar exploration mission to search for water ice in permanently shadowed craters near the lunar south pole.
23 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, ‘चायना मॅन्ड स्पेस एजन्सी’ने ‘चांग-ई 7’ (Chang’e-7) या रोबोटिक चांद्र मोहिमेला स्थगिती देण्याची घोषणा केली; एका सर्वसमावेशक आढाव्यात असे आढळून आले की, नियोजित कालावधीत प्रक्षेपण करण्यासाठी आवश्यक असलेल्या निकषांची पूर्तता या प्रोबद्वारे (अंतराळयानाद्वारे) होऊ शकली नाही. ‘चांग-ई ७’ ही चंद्राच्या दक्षिण ध्रुवाजवळील कायमस्वरूपी सावलीत असलेल्या विवरांमध्ये (craters) पाण्याचा बर्फ शोधण्यासाठी आखलेली चीनची चांद्र संशोधन मोहीम आहे.
3) Assam is in the advanced stages of selecting a private sector partner for AssamSAT, an earth observation satellite system that is proposed. The project is being developed under the DBLOTT (Design, Build, Launch, Operate, Train, Transfer) framework.
‘आसामसॅट’ (AssamSAT) या प्रस्तावित पृथ्वी-निरीक्षण उपग्रह प्रणालीसाठी खाजगी क्षेत्रातील भागीदार निवडण्याच्या प्रक्रियेत आसाम आता अंतिम टप्प्यात आहे. हा प्रकल्प DBLOTT (डिझाइन, बिल्ड, लाँच, ऑपरेट, ट्रेन, ट्रान्सफर – म्हणजेच रचना, निर्मिती, प्रक्षेपण, संचालन, प्रशिक्षण आणि हस्तांतरण) या आराखड्यांतर्गत विकसित केला जात आहे.
4) Indian Oil Corporation Limited and the State Trading Corporation of Mauritius signed a five year agreement of sales and purchase in Port Louis on 20 August 2026. As part of the agreement, Indian Oil Corporation Limited will supply 100 per cent of Mauritius’ import requirements for motor spirit, high-speed diesel and aviation turbine fuel.
इंडियन ऑइल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड आणि स्टेट ट्रेडिंग कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ मॉरिशस यांनी पोर्ट लुईसमध्ये 20 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी विक्री आणि खरेदीच्या पाच वर्षांच्या करारावर स्वाक्षरी केली. कराराचा एक भाग म्हणून, इंडियन ऑइल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड मॉरिशसच्या मोटर स्पिरिट, हाय-स्पीड डिझेल आणि विमान वाहतूक टर्बाइनसाठी 100 टक्के आयात गरजा पुरवेल.
5) The Union government launched the Kanda Express on August 24, 2026, to transport onions from Nashik in Maharashtra to major consuming centers like Delhi, Chennai, Kochi and Guwahati. The decision comes after the national average retail price of onions jumped to ₹42 per kg on 22 August 2026, up 45% from the same period last year and 19% higher than the previous month.
महाराष्ट्रातील नाशिकमधून दिल्ली, चेन्नई, कोची आणि गुवाहाटी यांसारख्या प्रमुख ग्राहक केंद्रांपर्यंत कांद्याची वाहतूक करण्यासाठी केंद्र सरकारने 24 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी ‘कांदा एक्सप्रेस’ सुरू केली. 22 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी कांद्याचा राष्ट्रीय सरासरी किरकोळ भाव वाढून 42 रुपये प्रति किलोवर पोहोचल्यानंतर हा निर्णय घेण्यात आला; ही किंमत गेल्या वर्षीच्या याच कालावधीच्या तुलनेत 45 टक्क्यांनी आणि मागील महिन्याच्या तुलनेत 19 टक्क्यांनी अधिक होती.
6) In 2026, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) registered 16 indigenous breeds of livestock and dogs. The registration was done through ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (ICAR-NBAGR), Karnal, Haryana and total number of registered animal breeds in India has reached to 262 including 258 indigenous and 4 synthetic breeds.
2026 मध्ये, भारतीय कृषी संशोधन परिषदेने (ICAR) पशुधन आणि कुत्र्यांच्या 16 देशी जातींची नोंदणी केली. ही नोंदणी हरियाणातील कर्नाल येथील ‘आयसीएआर-नॅशनल ब्युरो ऑफ ॲनिमल जेनेटिक रिसोर्सेस’ (ICAR-NBAGR) द्वारे करण्यात आली; यामुळे भारतातील नोंदणीकृत प्राणी जातींची एकूण संख्या 262 वर पोहोचली आहे, ज्यामध्ये 258 देशी आणि 4 कृत्रिम (सिंथेटिक) जातींचा समावेश आहे.
7) Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL) at the Korwa ordnance facility in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh has manufactured and test-fired India’s first 100% indigenized AK-203 assault rifle, Sher. The prototype was assembled only from domestic Indian components and raw materials, representing a transition from licensed assembly to end-to-end local manufacturing.
उत्तर प्रदेशातील अमेठी येथील कोरवा ऑर्डनन्स फॅसिलिटीमध्ये ‘इंडो-रशियन रायफल्स प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड’ने (IRRPL) भारताची पहिली 100% स्वदेशी बनावटीची ‘AK-203’ असॉल्ट रायफल – ‘शेर’- तयार केली असून तिची चाचणीही यशस्वीरीत्या पार पडली आहे. ही प्रोटोटाइप (नमुना) रायफल केवळ भारतीय सुटे भाग आणि कच्च्या मालाचा वापर करून तयार करण्यात आली आहे; हे परवाना-आधारित असेंब्लीकडून (जुळणी) पूर्णपणे स्थानिक उत्पादनाकडे झालेले एक महत्त्वाचे स्थित्यंतर आहे.
8) The Government of India, 22 August, 2026 appointed Syed Akbaruddin, Annie George Mathew and Janmejaya Kumar Sinha as part-time, non-official directors on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointments under Section 8(1)(c) of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, for a period of four years. The approved appointments have raised the active strength of the RBI’s governing board from 11 to 14 members.
भारत सरकारने 22 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी सय्यद अकबरुद्दीन, ॲनी जॉर्ज मॅथ्यू आणि जन्मजय कुमार सिन्हा यांची रिझर्व्ह बँक ऑफ इंडियाच्या (RBI) केंद्रीय मंडळावर अर्धवेळ, अशासकीय संचालक म्हणून नियुक्ती केली. मंत्रिमंडळाच्या नियुक्ती समितीने ‘रिझर्व्ह बँक ऑफ इंडिया कायदा, 1934’ च्या कलम 8(1)(सी) अन्वये चार वर्षांच्या कालावधीसाठी या नियुक्त्यांना मंजुरी दिली. या नियुक्त्यांमुळे आरबीआयच्या नियामक मंडळातील सक्रिय सदस्यांची संख्या 11 वरून 14 झाली आहे.
