1) The Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) set up its sixth Center of Excellence (CoE) at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi on 23 October 2026. C-DOT and IIT(BHU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaborative research, technology development and specialized training.
सेंटर फॉर डेव्हलपमेंट ऑफ टेलिमॅटिक्स (C-DOT) ने 23 ऑक्टोबर 2026 रोजी इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी (BHU), वाराणसी येथे आपले सहावे ‘सेंटर ऑफ एक्सलन्स’ (CoE) स्थापन केले. C-DOT आणि IIT(BHU) यांनी संयुक्त संशोधन, तंत्रज्ञान विकास आणि विशेष प्रशिक्षणासाठी एका सामंजस्य करारावर (MoU) स्वाक्षरी केली.
2) On 23 October 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a joint initiative with the Indian Army to build a nationwide Civil Defense network. The pilot aims to train 60,000 volunteers in 12 states and Union Territories (UTs) and is expected to be rolled out to other jurisdictions after assessing the pilot.
23 ऑक्टोबर 2026 रोजी, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालयाने (MHA) भारतीय लष्करासोबत मिळून एक देशव्यापी ‘नागरी संरक्षण’ (Civil Defense) जाळे उभारण्यासाठी संयुक्त उपक्रमाची घोषणा केली. या प्रायोगिक उपक्रमांतर्गत 12 राज्ये आणि केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांमधील 60,000 स्वयंसेवकांना प्रशिक्षण दिले जाणार असून, या उपक्रमाच्या मूल्यमापनानंतर तो इतर क्षेत्रांतही विस्तारित केला जाण्याची अपेक्षा आहे.
3) The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation (MoSPI) has proposed changes to the Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) methodology from January 2027 onward through the National Statistics Office (NSO). The new sample design and survey questions will take account of changing population patterns and other kinds of work.
सांख्यिकी आणि कार्यक्रम अंमलबजावणी मंत्रालयाने (MoSPI) राष्ट्रीय सांख्यिकी कार्यालयाद्वारे (NSO), जानेवारी 2027 पासून ‘पिरियॉडिक लेबर फोर्स सर्व्हे’ (PLFS) च्या कार्यपद्धतीत बदल करण्याचा प्रस्ताव मांडला आहे. नवीन नमुना आराखडा (सॅम्पल डिझाइन) आणि सर्वेक्षणातील प्रश्न, लोकसंख्येच्या बदलत्या स्वरूपांचा तसेच कामाच्या विविध प्रकारांचा विचार करतील.
4) On 22 October 2026 Ukraine became a member of the Security Cooperation Support Partnership (SCSP) of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). The agreement opens up NATO contracts to Ukrainian defense companies and allows Ukraine to procure military equipment through the NSPA.
22 ऑक्टोबर 2026 रोजी युक्रेन, नाटो सपोर्ट अँड प्रोक्युरमेंट एजन्सीच्या (NSPA) ‘सिक्युरिटी कोऑपरेशन सपोर्ट पार्टनरशिप’ (SCSP) चा सदस्य बनला. या करारामुळे युक्रेनच्या संरक्षण कंपन्यांसाठी नाटोचे कंत्राट मिळवण्याचे मार्ग खुले झाले आहेत, तसेच युक्रेनला NSPA च्या माध्यमातून लष्करी उपकरणे खरेदी करण्याची सुविधाही मिळाली आहे.
5) Bharat Biotech announced on 23 October 2026 a nearly 40% cut in the price of MOSQIVAC, its brand of the RTS,S/AS01 malaria vaccine. Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, has funded an agreement with UNICEF to reduce the price from €9.30 to €5.50 per dose from early 2027.
भारत बायोटेकने 23 ऑक्टोबर 2026 रोजी मलेरियावरील ‘RTS,S/AS01’ लसीच्या त्यांच्या ‘MOSQIVAC’ या ब्रँडच्या किमतीत सुमारे 40 टक्क्यांनी कपात करण्याची घोषणा केली. ‘गावी, द व्हॅक्सिन अलायन्स’ (Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance) ने युनिसेफसोबत (UNICEF) एक करार केला असून, त्याद्वारे 2027 च्या सुरुवातीपासून या लसीची किंमत प्रति डोस 9.30 युरोवरून 5.50 युरोपर्यंत कमी केली जाणार आहे.
6) A team at GITAM (Deemed to be University) in Visakhapatnam is working on a blood test for early detection of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded project. The three-year project is sanctioned under the Follow-on Nischayak Anveshan Extramural Grants program of the ICMR with an outlay of more than ₹2 crore.
विशाखापट्टणम येथील ‘गीतम’ (डीम्ड टू बी युनिव्हर्सिटी) मधील एक टीम, ‘इंडियन कौन्सिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च’ (ICMR) द्वारे अर्थसहाय्यित प्रकल्पांतर्गत, ‘ट्रिपल-नेगेटिव्ह ब्रेस्ट कॅन्सर’ (TNBC) चे लवकर निदान करण्यासाठी रक्त चाचणी विकसित करण्यावर काम करत आहे. तीन वर्षांचा हा प्रकल्प ICMR च्या ‘फॉलो-ऑन निश्चयक अन्वेषण एक्स्ट्रामुरल ग्रँट्स’ (Follow-on Nischayak Anveshan Extramural Grants) कार्यक्रमांतर्गत मंजूर करण्यात आला असून, त्यासाठी 2 कोटी रुपयांहून अधिक निधीची तरतूद करण्यात आली आहे.
7) The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced changes to the cricket qualification framework for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028 after meetings in Dubai in October 2026. The Games will include distinct Twenty20 (T20) tournaments for men and women, with six teams competing in each.
ऑक्टोबर 2026 मध्ये दुबई येथे झालेल्या बैठकांनंतर, आंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषदेने (ICC) लॉस एंजेलिस ऑलिंपिक 2028 साठी क्रिकेट पात्रता आराखड्यात बदल करण्याची घोषणा केली. या ऑलिंपिक क्रीडा स्पर्धेत पुरुष आणि महिलांसाठी स्वतंत्र ‘ट्वेंटी-20’ (T20) स्पर्धा आयोजित केल्या जातील, ज्यामध्ये प्रत्येकी सहा संघ सहभागी होतील.
8) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Greenfield Data Center and Enterprise Computing & Cybersecurity Training Institute on 25th October, 2026. The plant is located at Info Valley-II, Jatni, Khordha district, near Bhubaneswar in Odisha. The project is estimated to cost ₹169 crore.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी 25 ऑक्टोबर 2026 रोजी भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेच्या (RBI) ‘ग्रीनफिल्ड डेटा सेंटर’ आणि ‘एंटरप्राइझ कम्प्युटिंग अँड सायबरसिक्युरिटी ट्रेनिंग इन्स्टिट्यूट’चे उद्घाटन करतील. हा प्रकल्प ओडिशामध्ये भुवनेश्वरजवळील खुर्दा जिल्ह्यातील जटणी येथील ‘इन्फो व्हॅली-2’ (Info Valley-II) येथे स्थित आहे. या प्रकल्पासाठी अंदाजे 169 कोटी रुपयांचा खर्च अपेक्षित आहे.
