1) On 17 August 2026, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology approved 31 project proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme. The projects are expected to involve an investment of ₹7,877 crore across 10 Indian states and are projected to produce ₹82,243 crore in output and create nearly 10,000 direct jobs.
17 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स आणि माहिती तंत्रज्ञान मंत्रालयाने ‘इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स घटक उत्पादन योजने’अंतर्गत 31 प्रकल्प प्रस्तावांना मंजुरी दिली. या प्रकल्पांमध्ये भारतातील 10 राज्यांमध्ये ₹7,877 कोटी रुपयांची गुंतवणूक अपेक्षित असून, त्यातून 82,243 कोटी रुपयांचे उत्पादन आणि सुमारे 10,000 प्रत्यक्ष रोजगार निर्माण होण्याचा अंदाज आहे.
2) SEMICON India 2026 will be held September 17-19, 2026 at Yashobhoomi, also known as the India International Convention & Expo Center, in Dwarka, New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fifth edition of the semiconductor conference on September 17, 2026.
‘सेमिकॉन इंडिया 2026’ (SEMICON India 2026) चे आयोजन नवी दिल्लीतील द्वारका येथील ‘यशोभूमी’ (ज्याला ‘इंडिया इंटरनॅशनल कन्व्हेन्शन अँड एक्सपो सेंटर’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते) येथे 17 ते 19 सप्टेंबर 2026 या कालावधीत केले जाईल. पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी 17 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी या सेमीकंडक्टर परिषदेच्या पाचव्या आवृत्तीचे उद्घाटन करतील.
3) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on 18 August 2026 flagged off the National Cadet Corps (NCC) All India Girls High Altitude Long Trek, titled Aparajita – Parang La 2026, at New Delhi. The expedition has 28 NCC girl cadets with an average age of 19 years and the youngest cadet is 16 and a half years old
संरक्षण मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह यांनी 18 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथे नॅशनल कॅडेट कोर्प्सच्या (NCC) ‘अपराजिता – परांग ला 2026६’ या ‘ऑल इंडिया गर्ल्स हाय ॲल्टिट्यूड लाँग ट्रेक’ला (उंच पर्वतीय क्षेत्रातील दीर्घ पदयात्रेला) हिरवा झेंडा दाखवून रवाना केले. या मोहिमेत सरासरी 19 वर्षे वयोगटातील 28 एनसीसी (NCC) विद्यार्थिनी (कॅडेट्स) सहभागी आहेत आणि त्यातील सर्वात तरुण कॅडेटचे वय साडेसोळा वर्षे आहे.
4) A new flowering plant from the Himalayas has been named Impatiens nimspurjai in honor of Nepali mountaineer Nirmal “Nimsdai” Purja. The species was formally described in a 57-page study published in the peer-reviewed journal PLOS ONE and was first encountered in western Myagdi district of Nepal in 2011.
नेपाळी गिर्यारोहक निर्मल “निम्सदाई” पुर्जा यांच्या सन्मानार्थ हिमालयातील एका नवीन फुलझाडाला ‘इम्पेशियन्स निम्सपुरजई’ (Impatiens nimspurjai) असे नाव देण्यात आले आहे. या प्रजातीचे औपचारिक वर्णन ‘PLOS ONE’ या तज्ज्ञांकडून समीक्षित (peer-reviewed) नियतकालिकात प्रकाशित 57 पानी अभ्यासामध्ये करण्यात आले असून, ही वनस्पती सर्वप्रथम 2011 मध्ये नेपाळच्या पश्चिम म्याग्दी जिल्ह्यात आढळून आली होती.
5) The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has been working on the socio-economic empowerment of De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities through the SEED scheme. SEED is the Scheme for Economic Empowerment of DNTs for which it is implemented through the Development and Welfare Board for De-notified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities.
सामाजिक न्याय आणि सक्षमीकरण मंत्रालय ‘सीड’ (SEED) योजनेद्वारे विमुक्त, भटक्या आणि अर्ध-भटक्या जमातींच्या सामाजिक-आर्थिक सक्षमीकरणासाठी कार्यरत आहे. ‘सीड’ ही विमुक्त, भटक्या आणि अर्ध-भटक्या जमातींच्या आर्थिक सक्षमीकरणासाठीची योजना असून, तिची अंमलबजावणी ‘विमुक्त, भटक्या आणि अर्ध-भटक्या जमातींसाठीच्या विकास आणि कल्याण मंडळा’मार्फत केली जाते.
6) The five-day BRICS Information and Communication Technologies Track was held in Pune, Maharashtra from 17 August to 21 August 2026. The 7th Meeting of the BRICS Working Group for Cooperation in ICTs, commenced on 17 August 2026, under the theme of India’s 2026 Chairship, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”.
17 ऑगस्ट ते 21 ऑगस्ट 2026 या कालावधीत महाराष्ट्रातील पुण्यात पाच दिवसीय ‘ब्रिक्स माहिती आणि दळणवळण तंत्रज्ञान (ICT) सत्र’ आयोजित करण्यात आले होते. भारताच्या 2026 मधील अध्यक्षपदांतर्गत ‘लवचिकता, नाविन्य, सहकार्य आणि शाश्वतता यासाठी उभारणी’ (Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability) या संकल्पनेवर आधारित, ‘ICT क्षेत्रातील सहकार्यासाठीच्या ब्रिक्स कार्यगटाची 7वी बैठक’ 17 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी सुरू झाली.
7) Indian chess players Vignesh Vermula and Saranya Devi bagged the Open and Girls’ gold medals respectively in the Asian Junior Blitz Chess Championship on 17 August 2026. The tournament was organized at the ITC Maratha Sheraton, Mumbai, India, under the aegis of the Maharashtra Chess Association.
17 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी झालेल्या आशियाई कनिष्ठ ‘ब्लिट्झ’ बुद्धिबळ स्पर्धेत, भारतीय खेळाडू विग्नेश वेर्मुला आणि सारण्या देवी यांनी अनुक्रमे ‘ओपन’ आणि ‘मुलींच्या’ गटातील सुवर्णपदके जिंकली. ही स्पर्धा महाराष्ट्र बुद्धिबळ असोसिएशनच्या विद्यमाने मुंबई (भारत) येथील ‘आयटीसी मराठा शेराटन’ येथे आयोजित करण्यात आली होती.
8) New Delhi: India and Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Yerevan on 17 August 2026 for cooperation in defense research, development, innovation, and joint production. The agreement was signed by India’s Defense Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh during his two-day official visit started on 16 August 2026.
नवी दिल्ली: भारत आणि आर्मेनिया यांनी संरक्षण संशोधन, विकास, नवकल्पना आणि संयुक्त उत्पादनात सहकार्यासाठी 17 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी येरेवन येथे सामंजस्य करारावर स्वाक्षरी केली. भारताचे संरक्षण सचिव राजेश कुमार सिंग यांनी 16 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी सुरू झालेल्या त्यांच्या दोन दिवसीय अधिकृत दौऱ्यात या करारावर स्वाक्षरी केली.
