1) On 8 September 2026 Google DeepMind announced the launch of the AlphaGenome Atlas, an open database for analysis of human DNA. The resource holds 1 petabyte of pre-calculated artificial intelligence predictions for all 9 billion possible single letter mutations in human DNA.
8 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी गूगल डीपमाइंडने मानवी डीएनएच्या विश्लेषणासाठी अल्फाजिनोम ॲटलस या खुल्या डेटाबेसच्या प्रारंभाची घोषणा केली. या संसाधनामध्ये मानवी डीएनएमधील सर्व 9 अब्ज संभाव्य एकल-अक्षरी उत्परिवर्तनांसाठी 1 पेटाबाइट पूर्व-गणना केलेले कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्तेचे अंदाज संग्रहित आहेत.
2) The Indian Air Force (IAF) is organizing Dronathon-2026 at the Pokhran range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan from September 14 to September 16, 2026. Three-day military aviation event to focus on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) for defense applications.
भारतीय वायुसेना (IAF) राजस्थानमधील जैसलमेर येथील पोखरण रेंजवर 14 ते 16 सप्टेंबर 2026 या कालावधीत ‘ड्रोनथॉन-2026’ (Dronathon-2026) चे आयोजन करत आहे. संरक्षण क्षेत्रातील उपयोगांसाठी ‘मानवरहित हवाई प्रणाली’ (UAS) आणि ‘प्रति-मानवरहित हवाई प्रणाली’ (CUAS) यांवर लक्ष केंद्रित करणारा हा तीन दिवसीय लष्करी हवाई कार्यक्रम असेल.
3) India launched the Ocean Research Vessel ORV Sagar Manthan (Yard 3041) at the Rishi Bankim Shipyard, Kolkata on 09 September 2026. The ship has been designed, engineered and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited for the National Center for Polar and Ocean Research under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
भारताने 9 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी कोलकाता येथील ऋषी बंकिम शिपयार्डमध्ये ‘ओशन रिसर्च व्हेसल’ (ORV) ‘सागर मंथन’ (यार्ड 3041) हे जहाज कार्यान्वित केले. पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालयांतर्गत असलेल्या ‘नॅशनल सेंटर फॉर पोलर अँड ओशन रिसर्च’साठी ‘गार्डन रीच शिपबिल्डर्स अँड इंजिनिअर्स लिमिटेड’ने या जहाजाची रचना, अभियांत्रिकी आणि निर्मिती केली आहे.
4) Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) became the lowest bidder or L1 in the Ministry of Defense tender for the Armored Fighting Vehicle-Indian Light Tank (AFV-ILT) program under Project Zorawar. The contract value is around Rs 20,000 crore. The project is for development of a 25-tonne class light tank for the Indian Army.
‘प्रोजेक्ट झोरावर’ (Project Zorawar) अंतर्गत ‘आर्मर्ड फायटिंग व्हेईकल-इंडियन लाइट टँक’ (AFV-ILT) कार्यक्रमासाठी संरक्षण मंत्रालयाने काढलेल्या निविदेत ‘टाटा ॲडव्हान्स्ड सिस्टम्स लिमिटेड’ (TASL) ही सर्वात कमी बोली लावणारी (L1) कंपनी ठरली आहे. या कंत्राटाचे मूल्य सुमारे 20,000 कोटी रुपये आहे. हा प्रकल्प भारतीय लष्करासाठी 25-टन श्रेणीतील हलकी रणगाडा (लाइट टँक) विकसित करण्याबाबतचा आहे.
5) Belgium’s Princess Elisabeth Island is an artificial energy island that is being constructed in the North Sea, about 45 kilometers from the Belgian coast. The project is envisaged as a 5-hectare offshore energy hub for grid connection infrastructure related to offshore wind power.

6) On 8 September 2026, Akasa Air flew its first commercial flight with conventional aviation turbine fuel blended with 1% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The SAF blend was procured from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a public sector undertaking in India. On the same day, the flight operated between Goa and Mumbai.
8 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी, आकासा एअरने 1% ‘सस्टेनेबल एव्हिएशन फ्युएल’ (SAF) मिसळलेल्या पारंपरिक एव्हिएशन टर्बाइन फ्युएलचा वापर करून आपली पहिली व्यावसायिक विमानसेवा चालवली. हे SAF मिश्रण भारतातील सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रातील उपक्रम असलेल्या ‘भारत पेट्रोलियम कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड’ (BPCL) कडून मिळवण्यात आले होते. त्याच दिवशी हे विमान गोवा आणि मुंबई दरम्यान चालवण्यात आले.
7) Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) announced an alternate investment fund of ₹2,000 crore for deeptech energy startups during an industry event at IIT Bombay on 8 September 2026. The MC²⁺ Foundation, IIT Bombay and Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SINE) have signed a tripartite MoU to connect the startups with the research facilities, laboratories, mentors and pilot projects.
8 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी आयआयटी बॉम्बे येथे आयोजित एका उद्योग-विषयक कार्यक्रमात, ‘ऑइल अँड नॅचरल गॅस कॉर्पोरेशन’ने (ONGC) ‘डीप-टेक’ (deep-tech) ऊर्जा क्षेत्रातील स्टार्टअप्ससाठी ₹2,000 कोटी रुपयांचा ‘पर्यायी गुंतवणूक निधी’ (Alternative Investment Fund) जाहीर केला. स्टार्टअप्सना संशोधन सुविधा, प्रयोगशाळा, मार्गदर्शक आणि प्रायोगिक प्रकल्पांशी जोडण्यासाठी ‘MC²⁺ फाउंडेशन’, ‘आयआयटी बॉम्बे’ आणि ‘सोसायटी फॉर इनोव्हेशन अँड आंत्रप्रेन्योरशिप’ (SINE) यांनी एका त्रिपक्षीय सामंजस्य करारावर (MoU) स्वाक्षरी केली आहे.
8) An official send-off of the 503-member Indian contingent for the 20th Asian Games was held at New Delhi on 8 September 2026. The Games will take place from 19 September 2026 to 4 October 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan and Indian athletes are set to compete in 36 sporting disciplines.
