1) In August 2026, New York and New Jersey declared 15 August 2026 as “India Independence Day” and “Indian Independence Day” respectively. The announcements were made on the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026.
ऑगस्ट 2026 मध्ये, न्यूयॉर्क आणि न्यू जर्सीने अनुक्रमे 15 ऑगस्ट 2026 हा दिवस “इंडिया इंडिपेंडन्स डे” (India Independence Day) आणि “इंडियन इंडिपेंडन्स डे” (Indian Independence Day) म्हणून घोषित केला. 15 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी भारताच्या 80 व्या स्वातंत्र्यदिनानिमित्त या घोषणा करण्यात आल्या.
2) N. Chandrasekaran will not be seeking reappointment as Chairman of Tata Sons and will complete his current term of office, which expires on 20 February 2027. He joined Tata Group in 1987, became CEO of Tata Consultancy Services in 2009 and took over as Chairman of Tata Sons in 2017.
एन. चंद्रशेखरन हे ‘टाटा सन्स’चे अध्यक्ष म्हणून पुनर्नियुक्तीसाठी प्रयत्न करणार नाहीत आणि 20 फेब्रुवारी2027 रोजी संपणारा त्यांचा सध्याचा कार्यकाळ पूर्ण करतील. ते 1987 मध्ये टाटा समूहात रुजू झाले, 2009 मध्ये ‘टाटा कन्सल्टन्सी सर्व्हिसेस’चे (TCS) मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (CEO) बनले आणि 2017 मध्ये त्यांनी ‘टाटा सन्स’च्या अध्यक्षपदाची धुरा स्वीकारली.
3) The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) at Kapurthala in Punjab will roll out its first rake of 19 Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) broad gage passenger coaches for Bangladesh Railroad on 12 August 2026. The rake is under a 2024 export contract thru RITES Ltd for 200 broad gage passenger coaches in seven variants.
पंजाबमधील कपूरथळा येथील ‘रेल कोच फॅक्टरी’ (RCF) 12 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी बांगलादेश रेल्वेसाठी 19 ‘लिंके हॉफमन बुश’ (LHB) ब्रॉड गेज प्रवासी डब्यांची पहिली तुकडी (रेक) रवाना करेल. ही तुकडी ‘राइट्स लिमिटेड’ (RITES Ltd) द्वारे 2024 मध्ये करण्यात आलेल्या, सात प्रकारांमधील 200 ब्रॉड गेज प्रवासी डब्यांच्या निर्यातीविषयक कराराचा भाग आहे.
4) The Government of India has included the SMILE-Beggary scheme in a broader rehabilitation framework for persons engaged in begging. The scheme was launched on 23 October 2023 and is operated by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
भारत सरकारने ‘SMILE-Beggary’ (स्माईल-बेगरी) ही योजना भिक्षावृत्तीत गुंतलेल्या व्यक्तींच्या पुनर्वसनाच्या एका व्यापक आराखड्यात समाविष्ट केली आहे. ही योजना 23 ऑक्टोबर 2023 रोजी सुरू करण्यात आली असून, तिची अंमलबजावणी सामाजिक न्याय आणि सक्षमीकरण मंत्रालयाद्वारे केली जाते.
5) The second Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (NGOPV) of the Indian Navy, Shruti and Yard 3037, was launched at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) in Kolkata, West Bengal on 11 August 2026. The vessel was launched in the august presence of Vise Admiral Sanjay Sadhu, Controller of Warship Production & Acquisition and the formal launch ceremony was done by Mrs. Manika Sadhu.
भारतीय नौदलाची ‘नेक्स्ट जनरेशन ऑफशोर पेट्रोल वेसल’ (NGOPV) श्रेणीतील दुसरी नौका – ‘श्रुती’ (यार्ड क्रमांक 3037) – 11 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी पश्चिम बंगालमधील कोलकाता येथील ‘गार्डन रीच शिपबिल्डर्स अँड इंजिनिअर्स लिमिटेड’ (GRSE) येथे जଳार्पण करण्यात आली. ‘वॉरशिप प्रॉडक्शन अँड ॲक्विझिशन’चे नियंत्रक व्हाईस ॲडमिरल संजय साधू यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत ही नौका जळार्पण करण्यात आली आणि श्रीमती मॅनिका साधू यांच्या हस्ते या नौकेच्या जळार्पणाचा औपचारिक समारंभ पार पडला.
6) The Sangeet Natak Akademi announced the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship also known as Akademi Ratna and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards also known as Akademi Puraskar for the 2024 and 2025 cycles. The General Council of the Akademi also selected seven fellows, 108 Akademi awardees and 106 young artists for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar.
संगीत नाटक अकादमीने 2024 आणि 2025 या वर्षांसाठी ‘संगीत नाटक अकादमी फेलोशिप’ (जी ‘अकादमी रत्न’ म्हणूनही ओळखली जाते) आणि ‘संगीत नाटक अकादमी पुरस्कार’ (जे ‘अकादमी पुरस्कार’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जातात) यांची घोषणा केली. अकादमीच्या सर्वसाधारण परिषदेने सात फेलो, 108 अकादमी पुरस्कार विजेते आणि ‘उस्ताद बिस्मिल्लाह खान युवा पुरस्कारा’साठी 106 युवा कलाकारांची निवड केली.
7) India increased imports of urea from Egypt, Algeria, Nigeria and Georgia in 2026 to support domestic fertilizer supplies during supply disruptions linked to the West Asia war. These non-traditional suppliers accounted for 52% of the 2.5 million tons of imported urea that India purchased during April to June 2026.
पश्चिम आशियातील युद्धामुळे पुरवठ्यात व्यत्यय निर्माण झाला असताना, देशांतर्गत खतांचा पुरवठा सुरळीत राखण्यासाठी भारताने 2026 मध्ये इजिप्त, अल्जेरिया, नायजेरिया आणि जॉर्जिया या देशांकडून युरियाची आयात वाढवली. एप्रिल ते जून 2026 या कालावधीत भारताने आयात केलेल्या 25 लाख (2.5 दशलक्ष) टन युरियापैकी 52% युरिया या अपारंपरिक पुरवठादार देशांकडून आला होता.
8) The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been invited by NASA to participate in its Moon Base program under the Artemis Accords. The talks on lunar cooperation and open scientific data sharing were connected to India signing the Artemis Accords on June 21, 2023.
‘आर्टेमिस करारां’अंतर्गत (Artemis Accords) आपल्या ‘मून बेस’ कार्यक्रमात सहभागी होण्यासाठी नासाने (NASA) भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेला (इस्रो) आमंत्रित केले आहे. चंद्राशी संबंधित सहकार्य आणि वैज्ञानिक माहितीची (डेटा) मुक्त देवाणघेवाण यांबाबतची चर्चा ही भारताने 21 जून 2023 रोजी ‘आर्टेमिस करारां’वर स्वाक्षरी करण्याशी संबंधित होती.
