1) On 15 August 2026, the Prime Minister announced a “massive, modern” Civil Defence volunteer force during India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in Delhi. The proposed force is intended for civilian protection during modern security challenges and emergency situations.
15 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, दिल्लीतील लाल किल्ल्यावर भारताच्या 80 व्या स्वातंत्र्यदिनाच्या सोहळ्यादरम्यान पंतप्रधानांनी ‘नागरी संरक्षण स्वयंसेवक दला’ची (Civil Defence volunteer force) घोषणा केली; हे दल ‘भव्य आणि आधुनिक’ स्वरूपाचे असेल. आधुनिक सुरक्षा आव्हाने आणि आपत्कालीन परिस्थितींमध्ये नागरिकांचे संरक्षण करणे हा या प्रस्तावित दलाचा उद्देश आहे.
2) Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the seven-pillar framework, called Sapta Dhara, on 15 August 2026 from the Red Fort in New Delhi in his 80th Independence Day address. The framework groups the growth priorities into seven streams covering industry, agriculture, technology, infrastructure, defense, energy and soft power and has a national target of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी 15 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी नवी दिल्लीतील लाल किल्ल्यावरून आपल्या 80 व्या स्वातंत्र्यदिनाच्या भाषणात ‘सप्त धारा’ (Sapta Dhara) या सात-स्तंभीय आराखड्याचे अनावरण केले. या आराखड्यात उद्योग, कृषी, तंत्रज्ञान, पायाभूत सुविधा, संरक्षण, ऊर्जा आणि ‘सॉफ्ट पॉवर’ (मृदू शक्ती) या क्षेत्रांचा समावेश असलेल्या विकासाच्या प्राधान्यक्रमांचे सात विभागांत वर्गीकरण करण्यात आले असून, यात 2047 पर्यंत ‘विकसित भारत’ घडवण्याचे राष्ट्रीय उद्दिष्ट निश्चित करण्यात आले आहे.
3) The United States designated India as part of a “shadow transshipment network” linked to Chinese merchandise flowing into the American market thru third countries. On 11 August 2026, the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy released a report titled The Great Transshipment Scam, and the details released publicly placed India in Tier 1 under the category “Diversified Scale Leaders”.
अमेरिकेने भारताचा समावेश अशा एका ‘गुप्त पुनर्प्रेषण जाळ्यामध्ये’ (shadow transshipment network) केला आहे, ज्याचा संबंध तिसऱ्या देशांमार्फत अमेरिकन बाजारपेठेत येणाऱ्या चिनी मालाशी आहे. 11 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी व्हाईट हाऊसच्या ‘ऑफिस ऑफ ट्रेड अँड मॅन्युफॅक्चरिंग पॉलिसी’ने ‘द ग्रेट ट्रान्सशिपमेंट स्कॅम’ (The Great Transshipment Scam) नावाचा अहवाल प्रसिद्ध केला; या अहवालातील सार्वजनिक करण्यात आलेल्या तपशिलानुसार, भारताला ‘विविधतापूर्ण मोठ्या प्रमाणावरील अग्रणी’ (Diversified Scale Leaders) या श्रेणीतील ‘टियर 1’ (Tier 1) मध्ये स्थान देण्यात आले आहे.
4) India cut the windfall gains tax on exports of petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) thru a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on 15 August 2026. Special Additional Excise Duty (SAED) is the official name of the tax imposed on some petroleum exports in India.
15 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी अर्थ मंत्रालयाने जारी केलेल्या अधिसूचनेद्वारे, भारताने पेट्रोल, डिझेल आणि एव्हिएशन टर्बाइन फ्युएल (ATF) यांच्या निर्यातीवरील ‘विंडफॉल गेन्स टॅक्स’ (अतिरिक्त नफ्यावरील कर) कमी केला. भारतात काही पेट्रोलियम उत्पादनांच्या निर्यातीवर आकारल्या जाणाऱ्या कराचे अधिकृत नाव ‘विशेष अतिरिक्त उत्पादन शुल्क’ (SAED) असे आहे.
5) Two contracts worth around ₹1,577 crore were signed by the Ministry of Defense on 13 August 2026 with Tata Advanced Systems Ltd and NIBE Pvt Ltd for loitering munitions, also known as one-way attack drones. The procurement encompasses 84 loiter munition systems, 840 loiter munitions and associated accessories for the Indian Army.
संरक्षण मंत्रालयाने 13 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी ‘टाटा ॲडव्हान्स्ड सिस्टम्स लिमिटेड’ आणि ‘निबे प्रायव्हेट लिमिटेड’ यांच्यासोबत ‘लॉइटरिंग म्युनिशन्स’ (ज्यांना ‘वन-वे अटॅक ड्रोन्स’ किंवा ‘एकाच दिशेने हल्ला करणारे ड्रोन’ असेही म्हटले जाते) खरेदी करण्यासाठी सुमारे 1,577 कोटी रुपयांचे दोन करार केले. या खरेदीमध्ये भारतीय लष्करासाठी 84 लॉइटर म्युनिशन प्रणाली, 840 लॉइटर म्युनिशन्स आणि संबंधित उपकरणांचा समावेश आहे.
6) The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on August 14, 2026, did away with the 12-minute per hour advertisement cap for television channels. The change is for the advertising limit which had been working under the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994, once the cap was brought in 2006.
माहिती आणि प्रसारण मंत्रालयाने 14 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी दूरचित्रवाणी वाहिन्यांसाठी असलेल्या ‘प्रति तास १२ मिनिटे जाहिरातींची मर्यादा’ (advertisement cap) रद्द केली. 2006 मध्ये लागू करण्यात आलेली आणि ‘केबल टेलिव्हिजन नेटवर्क्स रूल्स, 1994’ अंतर्गत कार्यरत असलेली ही जाहिरात मर्यादा या बदलाद्वारे हटवण्यात आली आहे.
7) Saudi Arabia announced the establishment of the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition (MMDC) to coordinate maritime security in the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden. The coalition was formed following a string of Houthi attacks on commercial shipping and a regional summit in Riyadh in 2026
लाल समुद्र, बाब-अल-मंदेब सामुद्रधुनी आणि अदनच्या आखातातील सागरी सुरक्षेचा समन्वय साधण्यासाठी सौदी अरेबियाने ‘मल्टिनॅशनल मॅरिटाइम डिफेन्स कोअलिशन’ (MMDC) स्थापन करण्याची घोषणा केली. व्यापारी जहाजांवर हुथी बंडखोरांनी केलेल्या सलग हल्ल्यांनंतर आणि 2026 मध्ये रियाध येथे झालेल्या प्रादेशिक शिखर परिषदेनंतर या आघाडीची स्थापना करण्यात आली.
8) India has liberalized the nuclear energy sector to Indian private companies and foreign partners under the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Act, 2025. The law repeals the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010 and it permits private companies to construct, own and operate nuclear facilities thru a regulated approval process.
‘सस्टेनेबल हार्नेसिंग अँड ॲडव्हान्समेंट ऑफ न्यूक्लियर एनर्जी फॉर ट्रान्सफॉर्मिंग इंडिया’ (SHANTI) कायदा, 2025 अंतर्गत भारताने अणुऊर्जा क्षेत्र भारतीय खाजगी कंपन्या आणि परदेशी भागीदारांसाठी खुले (उदारीकृत) केले आहे. हा कायदा ‘अणुऊर्जा कायदा, 1962’ आणि ‘नागरी अणु-हानी दायित्व कायदा, 2010’ रद्द करतो आणि एका नियंत्रित मंजुरी प्रक्रियेद्वारे खाजगी कंपन्यांना अणुऊर्जा प्रकल्प उभारण्याची, त्यांची मालकी घेण्याची व त्यांचे संचालन करण्याची परवानगी देतो.
