About NIFTEM

NIFTEM is described in the notice as an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, with its establishment office at Kundli. Who Can Apply

The single Research Associate (RA) position has the following requirements.

Desirable experience and expertise, as printed in the notice:

• Proven expertise or exposure of the nutraceutical sector, food safety and food adulteration awareness initiatives, food-processing policies, and issues related to ultra-processed foods.
• Experience or expertise in capacity building and in preparing policy or scheme drafts would be an added advantage.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit is a maximum of 35 years. A relaxation of 5 years applies for women, SC, ST, OBC and differently abled candidates as per Government of India rules. The notice does not print a date as on which age is counted.

The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum, and the notice says that mere possession of them does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. Candidates should check the official notification for the full eligibility details.

Pay and Tenure

The total emoluments are ₹58,000 plus HRA (as admissible). The position is purely on contract basis, initially for 1 year. It may be extended further after satisfactory performance and the decision of the Competent Authority. The notice does not mention any other allowance.

Selection and Interview

The notice refers to shortlisted candidates being called for interview. Only an SMS alert or email will be sent to call them. The notice also says that where the number of applications received is large, it will not be convenient or possible to interview all of them.
