IREL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for 12 Graduate, Technician and Trade Apprentices Posts
Indian Rare Earths (IREL) has released the recruitment notification for 12 Apprentice vacancies, comprising Fitter, Welder, AAO(P), Mechanical (Graduate), Mechanical (Technician), and Executive posts on a contractual basis. Candidates possessing the required ITI, M Sc, B Tech, BE, or Diploma qualifications can apply through the prescribed offline application process. The completed application form must be sent by speed post to The DGM (HRM), IREL (India) Limited, Chavara, Kollam District, Kerala, reaching on or before 31 October 2026. Selected candidates will receive a stipend as prescribed under Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, for a training period of 1 year or 1.5 years as per the table. The selection process consists of a Merit List based on marks in qualifying examination, Document Verification, and Medical Examination.

Who Can Apply
Qualification
Candidates must possess the specific educational qualification corresponding to the designated trade as outlined in the vacancy table: ITI in Fitter, ITI in Welder, M Sc in Chemistry, B Tech / BE in Mechanical, Diploma in Mechanical, or BBA(Fin) / B Com for Executive posts.

Who Cannot Apply
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and rules made thereunder in any Govt. / Public Sector / Private Industrial Organization are NOT eligible.
Reservation
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD will be applicable as per the prescribed percentage applicable to the State of Kerala, along with relevant government guidelines.
Stipend and Training Period
Rate of stipend of the apprentices will be as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and as notified by Government from time to time. The training period is 1 year for Fitter, Welder, Mechanical (Graduate), Mechanical (Technician), and Executive posts, and 1 ½ years for AAO(P).
How to Apply for IREL Apprentice
- Register on the portal of Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship, Government of India (apprenticeshipindia.org) for Trade / Vocational apprentices and on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) of MHRD (nats.education.gov.in) for Graduate / Technician Apprentices / General Executives.
- Obtain the respective apprenticeship through establishment registration No. E08153200007.
- Prepare the application in the proforma provided in the advertisement on an A4 size paper.
- Affix a passport size photograph on the space provided and enclose self-attested photocopies of required certificates including 10th pass/matriculation certificate, mark sheets, category certificates, income and assets certificate, semester-wise mark sheets, nativity certificate, Aadhaar card, and Police Verification Certificate.
- Superscribe the outer cover with "APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICE AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL(India) Limited / Chavara/Apprentices Engagement/2026-27 dated 12-10-2026".

Selection Process
Selection is based on a merit list derived from marks scored in the specified educational qualification, subject to being found "Medically Fit" by IREL (India) Limited's Medical Officer. In case of a tie, higher marks in specified educational qualification will be considered, and if still tied, seniority in date of birth will be taken.
The priority order for selection is: (a) Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category; (b) Candidates coming under the Mining area and from peripheral villages situated within 10 KM radius of IREL (India) Limited, Chavara unit; (c) Wards of serving employees / Forum members; (d) Belonging to Kollam District; (e) Belonging to Kerala State; (f) Others.
