Scientist-D (Medical) MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC. Essential Experience: 8 Years.
Scientist-D (Non-Medical) Masters from a recognized University in a subject related to Biomedical Sciences Or Pharm-D degree recognized by UGC/PCI. Essential Experience: 8 Years.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience: - Scientist-D (Medical): DQ: MD/MS or equivalent degree recognized by MCI/NMC or MPH from a recognized university or Ph.D. from a recognized University in a subject related to Biomedical sciences. DE: Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to job requirements i.e. Epidemiology of Non-Communicable Diseases, Public Health and Health Systems in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions. - Scientist-D (Non-Medical): DQ: Ph.D. from a recognized University in a subject related to Biomedical Sciences. DE: Experience in Research & Development relevant to job requirements i.e. Biostatistics / Data Sciences in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions.

Experience Notes: 1. PhD will be considered as 4 years’ experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree). 2. MD/MS or equivalent to be considered as 3 years’ experience. 3. MVSc will be considered as 2 years' experience. 4. MPH/M. Tech/ME will not be considered as any experience. 5. Experience in Research & Development related to Biomedical Sciences, relevant to the job requirements in Govt./Public sector/Private Institutions will be admissible. 6. The period spent on obtaining minimum essential educational qualification shall not count towards experience.

ICMR Age Limit

Upper age limit is 45 years. Age relaxation is applicable in accordance with Government of India instructions.

ICMR Selection Process

The selection would be made based on a computer-based test (MCQs) or interview or both. The computer-based test, if conducted, would be based on the understanding of research methods and will be of qualifying nature.

Shortlisting Criteria: In the first instance, all candidates fulfilling minimum eligibility in respect of age, educational qualifications, and experience shall be shortlisted. If the number of shortlisted candidates is high, ICMR shall further shortlist candidates based on suitable criteria fixed by the Competent Authority, ICMR, such as higher experience or higher educational qualifications.

  3. Click on the 'Go to Application Form' button and fill out the section-wise application form carefully.
  4. Upload scanned copies of self-attested/attested certificates and documents in support of educational qualifications from matric onwards, detailed marks certificates, date of birth, category certificates, MCI registration certificate, and experience certificates.
  5. Upload your unattested photograph following the prescribed instructions (no cap or goggles; spectacles are allowed).
  6. Click submit and proceed to pay the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,500/- through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card.
  7. Take a final printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

ICMR Important Instructions

  • Applicants working in Central/State Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, or Government-funded research agencies must submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of personal discussion with an undertaking that they will be relieved within one month of receipt of the appointment order.
  • Applications received after the closing date or incomplete applications without supportive documents will be rejected.
  • Relevant documents of educational qualification, specialization, and experience as claimed must be invariably uploaded.
