GNLU Deputy Registrar Eligibility 2026

Age limit: maximum 55 years. Eligibility is determined on the last date of receipt of the application.

Mandatory qualification: The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification.

Mandatory experience: applicants must be officers in the Central/State Government, Universities or other autonomous Organisations who meet one of these conditions:

• Holding an analogous position on regular basis in Pay Level 12
• Five years of regular service in Pay Level 11
• Eight years of regular service in Pay Level 10

Desirable:

• Experience in dealing with General Administration, Establishment Personnel and HR related affairs or Procurements
• Experience in dealing with N-Procure and GeM
• Stores, computer-based Finance and Accounts, Audit or Academics
• Knowledge of UGC Rules and Regulations and DoPT Rules

Who is not eligible:

• Anyone convicted by a Court of Law at any time during their career
• Persons dismissed by, or involved in disciplinary cases with, the Union Government, a State Government, a Local Authority or a Government Corporation owned or controlled by the Central or State Government
• Employees of a Government Organisation or PSU with a Vigilance, Disciplinary or Criminal case pending or contemplated against them

Important Dates

Selection Process

The University shortlists candidates and then holds an interview. After the last date, it informs eligible shortlisted candidates through the email address given in the application form. The list of eligible candidates will also be uploaded on the GNLU official website.

• Original certificates must be produced at the time of the selection process.
• Employed candidates called for selection must produce a No Objection certificate in the prescribed format given in the application form. Without it, they will not be allowed to appear.
• No shortlisted candidate will be considered after the prescribed date and time, whatever the reason.
• Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.

Service Conditions

• Place of posting: GNLU Silvassa Campus, Dadra & Nagar Haveli-396230. The selected candidate may also be deputed to the Gandhinagar campus as and when required.
• Tenure: three years initially. This may be extended year to year on need and performance, with due approval of the Competent Authority, up to a maximum of five years. No extension follows after that.
• Performance: reviewed annually. Services shall be terminated in case of unsatisfactory performance.
• No claim to a permanent post: the appointment gives no right to renewal, extension or conversion into permanent appointment, and it ends on expiry of tenure.
• Joining: the selected candidate must join on the date the University specifies. The University may decline to appoint a candidate who cannot join by then.
• Verification: antecedents may be verified at any time during recruitment or service. If the information is found incorrect, the application or service shall be terminated without notice.

The University may also leave the vacancy unfilled if circumstances so warrant. Any addition or deletion to the advertisement will be published only on the University website, and the University's decision in any matter relating to it is final and binding.
