AAI Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
Only candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra (Nagpur or the nearby area of Nagpur) are eligible to apply. Candidates who have passed their Degree/Diploma on or after 01.04.2022 are eligible; those who have completed more than five years from the date of passing the qualifying examination, as on the date of joining, are not eligible. Students awaiting final year results may also apply, subject to producing the qualifying certificate later.
Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship, terminated one midway, or are currently pursuing one with another organisation or AAI at the same qualification level are not eligible. Candidates with one year or more of training/job experience after attaining the essential qualification are also not eligible.
AAI Apprentice Qualification
Degree/Diploma candidates must possess a full-time regular four-year Degree in Engineering or three-year Diploma in the relevant stream, from an institution recognised by AICTE, Government of India, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates). Where CGPA/CGPI/CPI/SGPA is awarded, it is the applicant’s responsibility to convert it to a percentage as per the guidelines of the concerned University/Board/AICTE/Institute.

AAI Apprentice Age Limit
As on 31.07.2026, candidates must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 26 years of age. Upper age relaxation is available as follows.

AAI Apprentice Stipend

AAI Apprentice Selection Process
- Selection for engagement as Apprentice is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
- The candidature of the applicant is provisional; final selection is based on Interview/verification of certificates and testimonials, and submission of a Certificate of Medical Fitness (obtained only from a Gazetted Government Medical Officer/Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking) at the time of joining.
- A Police Verification Certificate must be obtained from the candidate’s local area of residence.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview/document verification through their registered email ID only.
Airports Authority of India has no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices on completion of the training. However, apprentices who successfully complete one year of Apprenticeship Training in AAI will be exempted from submitting application fees for future direct recruitment in AAI, subject to fulfilling the other requirements in the respective recruitment advertisement.

Important Instructions
- Applications without supporting documents, or that are incomplete or do not fulfil the prescribed criteria, will be rejected.
- Candidates applying for more than one discipline will not be considered, and their application will be rejected.
