Punjab and Haryana High Court Recruitment 2026 Important Dates

Both the Driver and Frash recruitment notices share the same application timeline. The High Court has stated that the cut-off date to apply is sacrosanct and no application will be accepted after the closing date.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Driver and Frash Vacancy 2026: Category-wise Details

Together, the two notices cover 56 posts. The High Court has clarified that the number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the number of vacancies as on the date of preparation of the merit list, for both posts.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Driver and Frash Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (Driver & Frash)

Candidates in all categories, for both posts, must not be less than 18 years and not more than 35 years of age as on 18/09/2026. For Ex-servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by the number of years equal to their defence service plus 3 years.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Driver Qualification

• The candidate should be at least 10+2 pass with Punjabi/Hindi as one of the subjects in the matriculation examination.
• The candidate should possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving licence. No presumption of eligibility to drive an LMV will be drawn merely on the basis of any higher category endorsed on the driving licence.
• The candidate should not have been convicted of any offence for negligent driving and must have a minimum of two years' experience of driving a car.

Punjab and Haryana High Court Frash Qualification

Knowledge of Hindi and the regional language. No further formal educational qualification is specified in the notification. Proof of date of birth is admissible only through the Matriculation Certificate (for matriculate or higher candidates) or the Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths (for candidates with qualification less than Matric).

The application fee for both posts is payable online and is non-refundable, with online transaction charges levied extra.

For the Frash post only, there is no application fee for candidates who are dependents of Ex-servicemen disabled or deceased during active operation, provided they upload the requisite proof at the time of application and produce the original at testimonials checking. For both posts, reservation and fee relaxation for SC/ST/BC candidates apply only to those holding a valid certificate and domiciled/permanent resident of Punjab, Haryana, or U.T. Chandigarh; candidates from other states are considered under the General Category. Ex-servicemen fee relaxation applies only to the ex-servicemen themselves, not their dependents.

Driver Selection Process

Selection to the post of Driver is made on the basis of performance in a Practical Test-cum-Interview. The High Court may apply any suitable shortlisting criteria for provisionally allowing candidates to appear, informed via a public notice at the appropriate time. Selection does not confer any right to claim appointment; candidates proposed for appointment first undergo a trial period, with confirmed appointment only after its successful completion.

Frash Selection Process

Candidates for the post of Frash are selected on the basis of performance in an Interview of 50 marks (25 marks for Suitability to the Job, 25 marks for Etiquette/Manners). Candidates equivalent to 4 times (category-wise) the advertised vacancies, in order of merit in the interview, are then called for a qualifying Physical Endurance Test (PET): an 800-metre race, long jump, and high jump. Failing any one event disqualifies a candidate from the next event.

The final list of provisionally selected Frash candidates, as per the number of vacancies advertised across all categories, is prepared from those who qualify the PET, strictly on the basis of their merit in the interview.

The link for submission of the online application form for both posts is available only on the official website of the High Court, www.highcourtchd.gov.in. Applications for both notices must be submitted online between 28/08/2026 and 18/09/2026. Candidates must apply separately for each post they wish to be considered for.

1. Visit the official website www.highcourtchd.gov.in.
2. Locate the online application link for Employment Notice No. 04/DRV/HC/2026 (Driver) or 05/Frash/HC/2026 (Frash), as applicable.
3. Register with a valid, active personal e-mail ID and mobile number.
4. Fill in personal details and category correctly; no changes are permitted after submission.
5. Upload a recent scanned passport-size photograph (not more than 30 days old, white background) and scanned signature.
6. Pay the applicable application fee online through the available payment options (or upload proof of fee exemption, where applicable for Frash).
7. Review all entries carefully before final submission, and retain a printed copy of the submitted application form.
