Who Is Automatically Eligible for a Scribe

As per the notice, PwD candidates (whose names are listed in the enclosed list) belonging to the following three categories are allowed to take assistance of a Scribe in the OCS Main Written Examination 2025:

  • Blindness
  • Locomotor Disability (both arms affected)
  • Cerebral Palsy

How to Apply / Submit Scribe Details

  1. Identify whether you fall under the 3 auto-eligible categories (Blindness, Locomotor Disability-both arms affected, Cerebral Palsy) or another benchmark disability category.
  2. If you fall under another category, first obtain the Appendix-I certificate from a Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendent of a Government Health Care Institution.
  3. Fill in the Appendix-II "Letter of Undertaking for Using Own Scribe," clearly mentioning the candidate's PPSAN and Date of Birth.
  4. Attach the scanned photograph of the candidate, photocopy of the Scribe's educational qualification, and the Scribe's specimen signature.

Important Instructions (as per the Notice)

  • The qualification of the Scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination.
  • Candidates must clearly mention the PPSAN and Date of Birth of the candidate while sending Scribe details, along with the scanned photograph, photocopy of the Scribe's educational qualification, and the Scribe's specimen signature.
  • A candidate who fails to furnish the detailed information by the stipulated date shall not be allowed to take the assistance of a Scribe under any circumstances.
  • Persons other than those recognised by the Commission cannot be engaged by the candidate as a Scribe in the examination.
