Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science or Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within R&D, innovation, or technology-driven environments. Strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and verbal skills. Experience in project life cycle management, vendor management, contract management, developing detailed project plans, risk and change management, project reporting, and stakeholder communication. Bachelor or master degrees in a science, engineering, or technology related field, with project management certifications like MSP considered a plus. Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in managing grant-funded or collaborative, multi-partner, or multi-institutional research projects is an added advantage.

Age Limit: Up to 50 years. The upper age limit is relaxable as per ANRF, Government of India, and NIT Rourkela norms as applicable.

NIT Rourkela Project Manager Job Description

• Responsible for day-to-day coordination, monitoring, administration, financial tracking, and documentation of the ANRF-PAIR project, ensuring timely implementation of activities according to approved objectives, milestones, budgets, and ANRF guidelines.
• Provide project management and coordination support to the Project Director, Co-Director, and Principal Investigators.
• Facilitate effective collaboration among Hub and Spoke institutions, monitor project progress and deliverables, and coordinate meetings and project activities.
• Maintain relevant records and assist in preparing technical, administrative, and financial reports.
• Manage overall coordination of R&D projects involving internal teams and external collaborators or research partners.
• Act as the main point of contact between technical teams, management, and external partners for transparent communication.
• Organize and facilitate project meetings, technical reviews, partner updates, and internal planning sessions, preparing minutes and tracking action items.
• Gather regular updates from Hub and Spoke Institutes to track progress against milestones, with potential travel to hub institutes for information collection and event organization.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, work plans, progress reports, and status updates.
• Create and deliver project presentations for internal reviews, partner meetings, and funding agencies.
• Oversee technical and administrative component execution, identify and resolve execution risks or bottlenecks, and assist in preparing tender documents for procurement.
