राज्यातील ११३६ कंत्राटी कर्मचाऱ्यांची मनस्ताप: ८ महिन्यांपासून वेतनाची प्रतीक्षा! | Jal Jeevan Mission Bharti

Around 1,136 contractual employees working at the district and block levels under the central government’s flagship initiatives—the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Swachh Bharat Mission —have not received their salaries for the last eight months. This prolonged delay has triggered a severe financial crisis for these workers and their families. Managing daily livelihood expenses, house rent, children’s tuition fees, bank loan EMIs, and essential medical costs has become immensely difficult, leading to widespread distress and resentment among the staff.

The employee unions have heavily criticized the government’s stance, alleging discrimination and apathy toward the contractual workforce. While the administration faces no hurdles in releasing funds to external agencies, the contractual workers who actually execute these crucial ground-level projects are repeatedly denied dues under the pretext of “unavailability of funds.” With both the state and central governments shifting the blame onto each other, serious questions are being raised about who will ultimately take responsibility for the unpaid wages.

केंद्र सरकारच्या महत्त्वाकांक्षी जल जीवन मिशन व स्वच्छ भारत मिशन अंतर्गत महाराष्ट्रातील जिल्हा परिषद तसेच तालुका स्तरावर कार्यरत असलेल्या सुमारे ११३६ कंत्राटी कर्मचाऱ्यांना गेल्या आठ महिन्यांपासून वेतन मिळाले नाही. यामुळे या कर्मचाऱ्यांवर आणि त्यांच्या कुटुंबांवर गंभीर आर्थिक संकट ओढवले आहे. घरभाडे, मुलांचे शिक्षण, बँक कर्जाचे हप्ते, वैद्यकीय खर्च आणि दैनंदिन उदरनिर्वाह चालवणे अत्यंत कठीण झाले असल्याने कर्मचाऱ्यांमध्ये तीव्र नाराजी पसरली आहे.
