IIT Indore IPR Chair Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online

Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore) R&D Section is recruiting for 1 IPR Chair post on a project-based tenure as per SPRIHA Guidelines of DPIIT. Candidates applying for the post must be above the age of 70 years ineligible, and require qualifications such as Professor/Associate Professor eligibility as per UGC with IPR experience OR IP attorney with min 10 years practice OR retired IP Office official with doctorate and 5 years experience at Level 12 or above. The position offers a consolidated pay of Rs. 1.5 Lakh per month with 3% annual increment. Who Can Apply

An individual would be eligible to be appointed as an IPR Chair if he/she meets any one of the following criteria:

• Has served as, or meets the eligibility criteria for serving as a Professor or an Associate Professor as prescribed by the UGC; and possesses sufficient teaching and research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
• Is an IP attorney who has practiced IPR law for a minimum of ten years, OR any other professional who has gained significant recognition in the field of IPR with no less than ten years of experience in the said field.
• Is a retired official of the IP Office under CGPDTM, holding a doctorate degree, with a minimum of five years of experience working at Level 12 or above, such as Controller of Patents & Designs, Registrar of Trademarks & Geographical Indications, or Registrar of Copyrights.

Pay and Terms

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 1.5 Lakh per month. An annual increment of 3% of the current remuneration shall be granted upon the completion of each 12-month period, commencing from the date of appointment. The duration of the appointment is governed by the SPRIHA Guidelines of DPIIT. No housing facility will be provided. In terms of medical facilities, only OPD consultation will be provided. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview.

The Role

• IP Teaching at UG/PG Level.
• Ability to carry out independent research in IPR matters and as per the guidelines of SPRIHA of DPIIT, Government of India.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on shortlisting of qualifications and experience, followed by an interview. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience. Candidates must ensure they bring original certificates for verification during the interview.
