About GRID India Intern
Grid Controller of India Limited (GRID-INDIA), a Miniratna-I & Schedule “A” CPSE, is a wholly owned Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power. GRID-INDIA has been entrusted with the responsibility of operating the National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC) and the five Regional Load Despatch Centres (RLDCs). To address the growing need for specialized expertise due to renewable energy integration and new grid technologies, GRID-INDIA has introduced विद्युत प्रज्ञा - a specialised internship programme for Power System Simulation Studies.

The B.E./B.Tech. degree must have been completed on or before the closing date of application window. Candidates awaiting final undergraduate results or completion of degree/ essential qualifications requirements as on the date of closing of application window are not eligible to apply. Date of issuance of final marksheet shall be taken as the date of acquiring qualification.
Desirable Qualification
- Full-Time, Regular course in M.Tech./MSR/ M.E in Power Systems or a closely related specialisation. Final semester students in M.Tech./ MSR/ ME are also eligible to apply.
- Ph. D in Power Systems or a closely related specialisation. Ph. D research scholars who are pursuing their degree are also eligible to apply. Candidates pursuing or have completed MSR/ Ph. D in Power Systems or a closely related specialisation must have a “No Objection Certificate” from their respective colleges/ universities.
Age Limit
The applicant's age must be at least 18 years and not more than 32 years as on the closing date of the application window. Any Relaxation in Upper Age Limit shall be as per Government of India Directives. Relaxation in marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD categories will be pass marks.
Pay and Tenure
The selected interns will receive an all-inclusive stipend of ₹50,000 Per Month, and no other allowances, benefits or emoluments shall be admissible. The duration of engagement is six (06) months, which is further extendable by three (03) months on mutual agreement, on the same terms & conditions.
GRID India Intern Job Description
Interns will undergo training and work in the identified work area of Power System Simulation Studies, gaining structured exposure to practical applications of simulation and modelling tools in the Indian power system.
Selection and Interaction
The applicants shall be shortlisted on the basis of their fulfilment of prescribed essential eligibility criteria; preference will be given to candidates possessing desirable qualifications. Shortlisted candidates shall be called for an interaction at NLDC, New Delhi. No TA/ DA shall be paid to the candidates appearing for the interaction.

Important Instructions
- The applicant must be available for full-time, on-site engagement at NLDC/ RLDCs at locations specified in the offer letter for the entire duration of the internship and must be able to join on the date specified by GRID-INDIA. Candidates will be required to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of the internship; no support will be provided by GRID-INDIA.
- Candidates may give their choice for preferred place of internship location, efforts will be made to accommodate candidates as per their preference, subject to availability of internship slots. No request for change in internship location shall be entertained after issue of offer of internship.
- Candidates who have not been previously employed shall be given preference.
- The applicant must not have previously availed benefits under the PM Internship Scheme from any organisation and must not have previously undergone apprenticeship in a Central or State Government organisation under NATS, NAPS or another applicable apprenticeship scheme.
- Offer of Internship shall not be construed as an offer of employment in GRID-INDIA. Internship does not confer any right to regular employment, absorption or preferential consideration for future recruitment in GRID-INDIA.
- The Intern shall be responsible for any tax liabilities arising from payment of stipend.
- Submission of false, misleading information and concealment of material information may result in cancellation of candidature or termination of the internship, in accordance with the prescribed terms.
