GBPUAT Associate Professor Qualification
Agriculture, Community Science, Basic Sciences, Fisheries and Specified Technology Posts
- Ph.D. in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline.
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
- At least eight years of teaching or research experience in a position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- At least seven publications in peer-reviewed, NAAS-rated or UGC-listed journals.
- A minimum research score of 75 under the prescribed assessment criteria.
Veterinary and Animal Sciences Posts
- Recognized basic veterinary qualification included in Schedule I or II of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.
- Registration with a State Veterinary Council or Veterinary Council of India.
- Ph.D. and Master's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks.
- At least eight years of eligible teaching or research experience.
- At least seven prescribed journal publications and a research score of 75.
College of Technology Posts at Serial Numbers 26 to 30
- Ph.D. in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline.
- First class or equivalent at either Bachelor's or Master's level in the relevant branch.
- At least six research publications in SCI, UGC or AICTE-approved journals.
- At least eight years of teaching, research or industry experience.
- At least two years of experience must be after obtaining the Ph.D.
GBPUAT Assistant Professor Qualification
General Teaching Disciplines
- Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the concerned, relevant or allied subject.
- NET conducted by UGC, ICAR or CSIR, or an equivalent accredited examination such as SLET or SET.
- Candidates holding an eligible Ph.D. may receive exemption from NET, SLET or SET under the applicable UGC regulations.
Veterinary and Animal Sciences Posts
- B.V.Sc. and A.H. degree from a college recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.
- Registration with the State or Central Veterinary Council.
- Relevant Master's degree with at least 55% marks.
- NET, SLET or SET qualification, or an eligible Ph.D. exemption under the applicable rules.
Technology Posts at Serial Numbers 33 to 35
Candidates must possess BE, BTech or BS and ME, MTech or MS, or an Integrated MTech in the relevant branch, with first class or equivalent in at least one of the degrees.
The detailed list of acceptable concerned, allied and relevant disciplines is provided in Annexure V of the official notification.
Qualification Relaxation
- A relaxation of 5% at Bachelor's and Master's levels is available to eligible SC, ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer and differently-abled candidates.
- The relaxation is based only on qualifying marks and does not include grace marks.
- Eligible Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19 September 1991 may receive relaxation from 55% to 50%.

The application fee is non-refundable. Candidates applying for more than one position must submit a separate application and fee for each post.
Reservation Conditions
- The advertised posts are backlog vacancies reserved for SC, ST and OBC candidates.
- Uttarakhand reservation benefits are available only to permanent residents of Uttarakhand.
- Horizontal reservation applies to eligible women, persons with disabilities, dependants of freedom fighters, ex-army personnel and orphans under Uttarakhand Government rules.
- Reserved-category candidates from other states will be considered under the unreserved category.
- Applicants claiming reservation must attach the applicable caste and Uttarakhand domicile certificates.
Selection Process

Associate Professor Selection
- The scrutiny committee will assess the candidate's academic and research score.
- A merit list will be prepared using the verified academic and research score.
- Candidates may be shortlisted at ten times the number of candidates for the first vacancy and five times for every additional vacancy.
- Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview carrying a maximum of 20 marks.
- Final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the interview.
Assistant Professor Selection
The academic score will be used for shortlisting candidates for interview. Final selection will be based on interview performance. The university may also conduct a written examination, qualifying examination or presentation when required.
