Age limits as on 26-10-2026: Not exceeding 67 years for teaching faculty; not exceeding 45 years for Senior Residents, with age relaxation as per Government of India norms. Retired or working professors may also apply.

What Happens on the Day
Candidates must report between 09:00 AM and 10:00 AM on the specified interview date at the Office of the Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Surat. Candidates reporting after 10:00 AM will be considered absent. Candidates must first appear before the Document Verification Committee. Only candidates whose documents are successfully verified will be allowed to appear before the Interview Board. Selection is based on acquired academic credentials and performance in the interview.

Is this position permanent or on contract, and for how long?
The appointment is on a contractual basis for an initial period of 1 year, extendable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory annual performance, institutional requirements, and age limits.
Are allowances or HRA paid on top of the basic pay?
Selected candidates receive a fixed basic pay plus other allowances as per ESIC Headquarters Office Memorandum dated 08.12.2022. Non-medical officers are not entitled to Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), and if institutional accommodation is availed, HRA is not payable and license fees are deducted.
Who is exempted from paying the application fee?
SC, ST, ESIC regular employees, female candidates, defense ex-servicemen, and PH candidates have an application fee of Nil, whereas all other categories must pay an application fee of Rs. 500/- via Demand Draft.
Can a candidate apply for more than one post?
Yes, candidates may apply for multiple posts if they meet the eligibility criteria for each, provided they submit a separate application, required documents, and applicable fees for each post.
