Reservation Rules

• The vacancies are provisional. They may increase or decrease according to the actual requirement for teaching and patient care.

• Any candidate can be appointed against any unfilled vacant reserved category post for 44 days, with provision of possible extension. A candidate of the unreserved category can apply against EWS.
• EWS posts are not carried forward. If no EWS candidate is available, candidates of other categories may be allowed to apply provisionally. They will be considered for the post as UR candidates, and the selection will be on merit only.
• If no reserved category candidate is available for an advertised post, the vacancy may be filled for less than 45 days as a de-reserved seat.
• The EWS certificate must be in the format of Annexure-I of DoPT Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019.
• The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must not be issued earlier than 01 (One) Year before the date of interview. It must be in the format for jobs in the Govt. of India, issued by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer or equivalent authority of the concerned State, for a Central Govt. job.

Qualification and Experience

• Date for eligibility: qualifying degree and experience are counted as on the date of interview. For Assistant Professor posts, they are counted as on 30.11.2026.
• Medical registration: all candidates must have up-dated Medical (NMC/State Medical Council) registration with all post MBBS/MD/MS qualification(s). A candidate without updated registration must show "Applied for document(s)" to the concerned authority at the interview. If neither condition is met, the candidate may not be interviewed. If the expert committee does allow such a candidate to appear, the result will remain withheld. A selected candidate must submit the updated Medical Registration Certificate when reporting to join.
• Publications: the application form says only NMC-approved publications will be considered.

Candidates should check the official notification and the NMC (MCI) gazette notification it cites for the discipline-specific eligibility of each post.

Age Limit

The age limit is counted as on the date of interview.

The notice does not print a separate age limit for the Tutor post. For teaching faculty, the maximum tenure of the engagement is until 70 years of age, provided other rules and regulations are satisfied.

Pay and Terms

Pay and allowances follow OM no. Z-11012/51/2022-Med VI dated 08.12.2022.

If retired employees or pensioners are engaged, they may be allowed to draw the total pay without any deduction. This is not a case of re-employment under the Central Civil Services (Fixation of Pay of Re-Employed Pensioner) Orders 1986. They can continue to draw their pension and dearness relief during the contract. The notice does not mention the pay for the Tutor post.

Terms of Contract

• The tenure of all posts is 01 (One) year OR until the candidate reaches 70 years of age, whichever is earlier. The advertisement describes the engagement as one year on contract basis, extendable up to three years.
• Either side may end the contract with one month's prior notice, without giving a reason. A selected candidate who resigns on the spot must deposit one month's salary to the ESIC Account through Challan.
• No service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority or Promotion will be admissible.
• Absence from work for more than 07 (Seven) days without proper permission of the competent authority will amount to voluntary abandonment of the engagement and automatic termination.
• Teaching faculty must mark attendance daily on scheduled working days, both manually and on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS).
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty at ESIC Medical College, Pandeypur, Varanasi.
• Other terms and conditions issued by the competent authority from time to time will apply.

How to Apply for ESIC Varanasi Recruitment 2026

1. Get the application form ("Format of Application"). It is attached to the advertisement and is also uploaded on the website. The form can be converted to Word format.
2. Fill in a separate form for each post, in the prescribed format only, in clear CAPITAL letters. Enter Advertisement No. 05/2026, the post, the department, and your category and qualifications.
3. Paste a colour photograph signed across. It must show your full face, both ears and neck in frontal view, with a neutral, non-smiling expression and open eyes directed at the camera.
4. Give details of two of these three identity documents: Aadhaar No., Voter Id or PAN. Also give an active e-mail ID and mobile number, which must stay in use until the final result is published.
5. If the fee applies to you, get a Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- in favour of ESIC Fund A/c No.1, payable at Varanasi. Enter its number, date, bank and branch in the form.
6. Report at the venue on your department's interview date between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Bring the original application form, the supporting documents and the original Demand Draft (if the fee applies) for verification.

Important Instructions

• Candidates working in a Govt., Autonomous or Statutory Institution should preferably have an NOC from their employer at the interview. If the NOC is not available yet, they must submit a copy of the "applied for NOC" at the interview.
• An application in any other format, or an incomplete application, will be summarily rejected.
• The form must be filled in by the candidate in person.
