• Specified Trades for Technician (Semi Skilled): Book Binder, Carpenter, Computer Hardware and Networking, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Cutting & Sewing, Electrician, Fitter, Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance, Instrument Mechanic, Painter, Plumber, Refrigeration and Air conditioner Mechanic, Tool and Die Maker or Tools and Die (Jig and Fixture).
• Higher Qualification: Candidates must disclose any higher qualification possessed in the application form.
• Trade Skill Test: Eligible candidates must qualify a departmental Trade Skill Test in the applied trade.

DGQA Age Limit 2026

Applicant should have attained minimum 18 years of age, maximum 27 years as on the application closing date for the UR and EWS categories. The crucial date for determining the maximum age limit is the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (21 days from publication).

DGQA Salary 2026

Salaries are determined according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Recruited candidates will draw salary as per their pay level and are eligible for applicable benefits and allowances.

DGQA Exam Pattern 2026

The Written Test will be objective type multiple choice questions only, conducted in one session (forenoon or afternoon) at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Question papers will follow the syllabus of Tenth Standard / Matriculation of Central/State Boards.

Part (i) will be bilingual in English and Hindi. Part (ii) and Part (iii) will be in English only. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates shortlisted based on Written Test marks and reservation categories will be called for the Trade Test.

How to Apply for DGQA Recruitment 2026

Candidates can apply only through the offline postal route. Each applicant can submit only one application indicating a specific Trade and Station.

1. Type the application form neatly on A4 size paper using Arial font, size 12, as per Appendix 'A', and print it double-sided.
2. Fill in the required personal, educational, technical, and trade details in block letters, signing every page of the application.
3. Affix one recent coloured self-attested passport size photograph in the application form and self-signed photographs on each of the two Admit Cards (Appendix 'B').
4. Attach self-attested copies of all required certificates (Aadhaar, birth certificate, qualification, ITI certificates, experience, caste/EWS/ESM if applicable) along with signed examination instructions (Appendix 'C').
5. Enclose one self-addressed envelope of size 30 cms x 12 cms affixed with a postal stamp of Rs 60/- for dispatch of the admit card.
6. Superscribe the main envelope clearly as "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SKILLED)" or "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SEMI SKILLED)".
7. Send the application packet by ordinary post or Speed Post to: The Controller, Controllerate of Quality Assurance (General Stores), DGQA Stores Complex, Ashok Path, Meerpur Cantt, Kanpur – 208004, Uttar Pradesh.

DGQA Important Instructions

• Submitting more than one application will lead to summary rejection of all applications without assigning any cause.
• Selected candidates will be appointed on probation for a period of two years and are liable to serve anywhere within India.
• No change in post or posting station will be permitted after submission of the application.
• Candidates diagnosed with night blindness or colour blindness will be declared medically unfit and cannot be appointed.
• Ex-Servicemen and Agniveers who have already secured regular civil employment in Group 'C' or 'D' posts under Central or State Government under ESM reservation quota are not eligible for reservation under ESM/Agniveer quota.
• Government servants must forward applications through proper channel along with NOC; otherwise, applications will be summarily rejected.
• No TA or DA will be paid for appearing in the Written Test or Trade Test. Candidates must make their own arrangements for lodging and boarding.
• The candidate must disclose any higher qualification possessed; failure to do so will lead to disqualification.
• The photo in the Application Form and Admit Card must be identical and should not have been taken earlier than one month prior to submitting the application.
• Overwriting, striking out, or using correction fluid on the application form is strictly prohibited; candidates are advised to type the application form.
