CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Overview

Cochin Shipyard Limited has released Notification No. CSL/P&A/APPE/SEL. DESIGNTD/-DESIGNATED/2022/2 dated 16 Sep 2026, for the engagement of Technician (Vocational)/Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Interested and eligible ITI/Vocational certificate holders can apply online for One Year apprenticeship training.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

CSL apprentice eligibility 2026 differs for ITI Trade Apprentices and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices, as detailed below.

Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in any other organisation, for any duration, under the Apprentices Act, 1961, are not eligible to apply. Applicants with qualifications equivalent to the prescribed qualification must upload an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority; without this certificate their candidature will not be considered.

The minimum age required for both ITI Trade Apprentices and Technician (Vocational) Apprentices is 18 years, as on 08.10.2026. The notification does not specify an upper age limit; physical standards are as prescribed under the Apprentices Act 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992.

CSL Technician and ITI Apprentice Selection Process 2026

Selection to CSL Technician (Vocational)/Trade Apprentice posts is based on shortlisting by merit, followed by certificate verification and medical fitness clearance; there is no written examination specified in the notification.

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification applicable to the respective trade/discipline. In case of a tie in marks, relative merit will be decided based on seniority in age.
2. Intimation to Shortlisted Candidates: Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through their registered email ID and will have to appear for certificate verification.
3. Certificate Verification: Candidates must produce a signed printout of the online application form (with unique registration number), original certificates towards proof of age, qualification, caste, and disability (if any), along with self-attested copies of these certificates.

Rank lists will be maintained for all posts and operated for seats arising during the validity period, which is up to 18 months from the date of reporting of the last candidate advised to join, unless a fresh notification is issued. Such seats will not be treated as fresh vacancies.
