A total of 02 (Two) vacancies are available across project positions on a temporary, contractual basis.

Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications and desirable credentials outlined below. Age and experience will be counted as on the closing date of application, while the application form also records candidate age as on 01.11.2026.

Pay and Tenure

Both positions are purely on a temporary basis / on-contract for 2 years and / or co-terminus with the project. The remuneration structure is fixed as follows:

• Project Associate-II (PA-II): INR: 28,000/- + 10% HRA (Consolidated pay)
• Project Assistant (PA): INR: 20,000/- + 10% HRA (Consolidated pay)

CMFRI Recruitment 2026 Job Description

Selected candidates across both positions will be engaged in carrying out project-related research activities on Kappaphycus cultivation, field and land-based culture trials, sample collection, laboratory analysis and other associated project activities.

1. Download the official application format (ANNEXURE-I) provided with the advertisement notice.
2. Fill in all required particulars, affix a recent color photograph affixed on it and signed, and sign the declaration.
3. Compile the duly filled & signed application form along with scanned copies of certificates and publications as a single PDF document.
4. Ensure the email subject line mentions the exact required text:
   • For Project Associate-II: “Application for the post of Project Associate-II (PA-II)”
   • For Project Assistant: “Application for the post of Project Assistant (PA)”

Selection and Interview

The selection procedure consists of the following steps:

• Screening and Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their merit, essential and desirable qualifications sought, suitability, and relevant experience. The ICAR-CMFRI reserves the right to fix the suitable criteria for screening/ short-listing of eligible candidates. The selection committee’s decision will be final binding.
• Online Interview: For short-listed candidates, the interview date and time slots (virtual mode) will be communicated through e-mail only.
• Availability of shortlisted candidates during the allotted online interview time slots and internet interruptions are the sole responsibility of the candidates. The ICAR-CMFRI will not bear any responsibility for their connection loss / interruption if any at the end of candidates attempting the interview. No time slot adjustments will be done and no further communications will be entertained in this regard.
• All the relevant original testimonials (date of birth, degree certificate, experience certificate, etc., if any) will be verified subsequently and a set of attested copies of all the certificates will be required to be submitted by the candidates for verification, before joining, if selected.

Important Instructions

• The positions are purely temporary in nature and the engagements will not constitute any regular job or appointment. The assignments will not bestow upon them any claim for any regular employment at ICAR-CMFRI.
• The place of posting is Veraval Regional Station of ICAR-CMFRI, Veraval, Gujarat, but the positions are liable to be posted at any other operational site/location as per the project need.
• Candidates should produce the No Objection Certificate from their present employer, if any.
• If any of his/her near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR-CMFRI, the candidate intending to attend the interview has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing as detailed in ANNEXURE-II, and communicate to the undersigned by post or through e-mail. If candidates having No Near/ Distant Relative(s) working at ICAR/ CMFRI will also furnish a declaration in the format given in Annexure-II along with the online application through e-mail.
• Incomplete applications, and applications received after the due date or submitted on any other e-mail or submitted offline will not be accepted/entertained and deemed to be rejected.
• Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination.
