- Reservation follows the Chhattisgarh Lok Seva (Reservation for SC, ST and Backward Classes) Act, 1994, and the 100-point roster as per General Administration Department directions, district-wise.
- 30% of posts are reserved for women (horizontal reservation) under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Special Provisions for Appointment of Women) Rules, 1997. Widows and divorced women are given preference.
- 7% of posts are reserved for persons with disabilities, and reservation for ex-servicemen is as per Government rules.
Eligibility Criteria
All candidates must complete the minimum qualification on or before the last date of online application. Candidates must also have studied in the English medium from Class 6 up to the highest degree for the English medium posts. This English-medium condition does not apply to Lecturer and Teacher posts for Hindi and Sanskrit.
General Conditions
- The candidate must be a native (domicile) resident of Chhattisgarh and must attach a certificate issued by the competent authority.
- Candidates must pass the CG TET/CTET (Upper Primary level) for Teacher and Headmaster (Upper Primary) posts, and CG TET/CTET (Primary level) for Headmaster (Primary) and Assistant Teacher posts.
- Educational qualifications will be recognized as per the NCTE notifications issued from time to time and court judgments. Post-wise minimum qualifications are as per the Chhattisgarh Gazette dated 13-02-2026 and 22-09-2026.
- Contract teaching staff already working in SAGES cannot apply for the same post and can apply only for a higher post, and must give an affidavit that they have not applied for the same post.
- Government, corporation, board, bank and university employees must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
Lecturer
- Master's degree with at least second class in the relevant subject from a recognized University/Institute, and B.Ed. (mandatory).
- Subject groups: Hindi; English; Sanskrit/Classics/Acharya; Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics; Political Science/Public Administration; History/Ancient Indian History; Geography; Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics; Mathematics/Applied Mathematics; Chemistry/Biochemistry; Biology (Botany/Zoology/Life Science/Genetics/Microbiology/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology/Plant Physiology, with Zoology or Botany at graduation); Commerce (including Accountancy, Cost Accounting or Financial Accountancy as a main subject); Social Science (Economics/Geography/Political Science/History).
Headmaster
- Headmaster, Primary School: Higher Secondary (12th) from a recognized board with at least 45% marks, and D.Ed/D.El.Ed. TET (Primary level) is mandatory.
- Headmaster, Upper Primary School: Graduation from a recognized University with at least 45% marks, and D.Ed/B.Ed/D.El.Ed. TET (Upper Primary level) is mandatory.
Assistant Teacher
- Higher Secondary (12th) with at least 45% marks (or at least 50% as per NCTE norms) and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed/D.El.Ed) or B.El.Ed or Special Education diploma, as per NCTE rules. TET (Primary level) is mandatory.
Teacher
- Graduation with at least 45% marks and D.Ed/B.Ed/D.El.Ed (or equivalent NCTE-recognized qualification). TET (Upper Primary level) is mandatory.
- Hindi/Sanskrit: Graduation with at least second class with the subject, and D.Ed/B.Ed/D.El.Ed. English medium is not mandatory.
- English: Graduation with English literature as one subject.
- Social Science (Arts): Graduation with at least one of History, Geography, Economics or Political Science. If candidates are not available, those with Applied Economics/Business Economics may be considered.
- Science: Graduation with any two of Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Military Science and Geology.

PT Teacher, Librarian, Computer Teacher and Laboratory Assistant

- Teacher (Computer): Graduation with at least second class in Computer Science/IT/Computer Applications from a recognized University/Institute.

Salary/Stipend
The contract staff are paid a fixed monthly lump-sum honorarium (ekmusht masik mandey) based on the post:
- Lecturer and Headmaster (Upper Primary School): Rs. 38,100 per month
- Headmaster (Primary School), Teacher (all subjects), PT Teacher and Teacher (Computer): Rs. 35,400 per month
- Assistant Teacher and Laboratory Assistant: Rs. 25,300 per month
- Librarian: Rs. 22,400 per month
- No special pay, dearness allowance, compensatory allowance or house rent allowance is given, and there is no annual increment under contract appointment.
- Contract employees are not eligible for pension, death benefit or any other benefit available to regular Chhattisgarh Government employees.
Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026)
The age is counted as on 01-01-2026. Candidates must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 35 years of age. Age relaxation is as follows:

- Volunteer Nagar Sainik and non-commissioned officers of Nagar Sena: Up to 8 years of relaxation, subject to a maximum of 38 years.
- Other relaxations: Up to 5 years for couples awarded under the inter-caste marriage scheme (Untouchability Prevention Act, 1984) and for recipients of the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey, Gundadhur, Maharaja Pravir Chand Bhanjdeo and National Youth awards.
- After combining all relaxations, the maximum age for entry into Government service cannot exceed 45 years.

Selection Process
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) only, followed by document verification. The notification does not mention a separate interview or the exam pattern.
- The CBT will be conducted in English medium.
- The selection list will be prepared on the basis of the CBT result. Technical help from expert institutions will be taken with the State Government's permission.
- The selection list is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. A waiting list of up to 25% of the vacant posts (minimum one name) will be prepared for each category and is valid for 9 months.
- Candidates will be informed about document verification online through the department's portal, and absent candidates will be treated as ineligible.
- Selected candidates are subject to character verification (police verification).
- Selected candidates in the disability category will be examined by the District Medical Board for benchmark disability and functional requirements before joining.

Terms of Contract
- The contract appointment is for one year under Rule 4 of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Contract Appointment) Rules, 2012, and may be renewed or extended based on the Principal's and the Committee's recommendation after assessing performance (confidential report).
- Either party can end the contract with 3 months' notice or 3 months' salary in lieu of notice. The Committee can end the service without notice when the contract period ends.
- The appointment is entirely temporary, gives no claim for regular appointment or regularization, and will end automatically if regular recruitment is made against the post.
- Contract employees are governed by the Chhattisgarh Government Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965.
