Bharathiar University NSS Programme Co-ordinator Eligibility 2026
Age limit: Not more than 50 years of age at the time of selection as Programme Co-ordinator.
Qualifications and experience, as printed in the notice:
- Associate Professor / Senior Assistant Professor in the University or Affiliated College.
- Principal of an Affiliated College, of the status of Associate Professor, with NSS background.
- Must have been a Programme Officer (NSS) for at least three years.
- Must have undergone NSS orientation in a Training and Orientation Centre (TOC) / Training, Orientation & Research Centre (TORC).
Language: Knowledge of Tamil to the extent of carrying out official correspondence and drafting reports.
Marks and relaxations:
- SC/ST candidates get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master's level.
- Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master's Degree before 19 September 1991 get a relaxation of 5%, from 55% to 50% of the marks.
- Where the grading system is followed, Grade 'B' on the seven-point scale with UGC letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F is regarded as equivalent to 55%.

Selection Process
Selection follows the norms of the NSS Manual, and applicants must be prepared to attend an interview at their own cost. Anyone who attempts to canvass or influence their candidature will be disqualified. The notice says transparency procedure will be followed as per Government Letter No.7582/K2/2021-1, dated 09.06.2021.
Service Conditions
- The tenure is three years.
- The selected candidate must join duty immediately and enter into an agreement with the University, in accordance with its laws, on joining the post.
- Pay protection in any manner is not guaranteed for candidates already in service.
- The Syndicate reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the post without assigning any reason.
