AMU Guest Teacher (Computer Science) Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has announced the AMU Guest Teacher Recruitment 2026 for 01 Guest Teacher (Computer Science) vacancy in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Aligarh. Candidates with a relevant Master's degree and NET qualification or eligible Ph.D. degree can apply as per UGC norms. Selected candidates will receive Rs. 1,500 per lecture, up to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month. The appointment is temporary for the academic session 2026-27 or until GSC is held, whichever is earlier. The online application deadline was 08 October 2026, while the last date to submit the hardcopy of the application is 15 October 2026 by 4:00 PM. Candidates who have applied online must submit the required documents to the Department of Computer Science, AMU, Aligarh, before the deadline.

The recruitment is for 1 temporary post of Guest Teacher in the Department of Computer Science.

Who Can Apply

Candidates must fulfill Eligibility A or B as specified below:

Eligibility A (i): A master's degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Concerned/relevant/allied subjects must be approved by the University in compliance with the order of the Allahabad High Court in Writ A. No. 368 of 2021.

Eligibility A (ii): Clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, or are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.

Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, are governed by existing ordinances and exempted from NET/SLET/SET if they meet specific criteria regarding regular degree evaluation, viva-voce, and published research papers.

Eligibility B: In case the Ph.D. degree is obtained from a foreign university, Clause 3.1.1 (B) of the AMU Ordinances (Executive), 2019, shall be applicable as per UGC Notification Dated 04.04.2025.

Pay and Tenure

The appointment is purely temporary till the end of the Academic Session 2026-27 or till GSC is held, whichever is earlier, and is liable to termination at any time without notice. Remuneration is paid at Rs. 1500/- per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000/- per month.

How to Apply for AMU Guest Teacher

1. Visit the Careers Portal of the University at careers.amuonline.ac.in.
2. Fill out the Online Application Form for the post detailed under advertisement number 04/2026-27.
3. Pay the non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500/- online at the Careers Portal (PWD candidates are exempt upon uploading an authentic Disability Certificate).
4. Take the printout of the PDF file of the Application Form on A-4 Size Paper.
5. Affix your signature and paste a front-facing recent photograph at the designated place.
6. Attach self-attested copies of relevant documents including receipt of processing fee, High School Certificate, mark-sheet and degree of Graduation, mark-sheet and degree of Post-Graduation, NET/JRF/SLET/SET/CSIR certificate, M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree, and Experience Certificate.
7. Submit or send the hardcopy of the Application Form by post, complete in all respects, superscribing on the top-left side of the cover the post applied for, advertisement number and its date, to the Office of the Chairperson, Department of Computer Science, A.M.U., Aligarh on or before 15.10.2026 till 04:00 P.M.

Selection and Interview

Shortlisting of applicants will be done by the University. Call letters for interview will be sent only to the short-listed applicants. The interview will be held in the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Science on a date and time to be notified later on the webpage of the Department & Notice Board. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
